Default Sti-6 Type RA V-Limited

Well, I have not had her long but my new business venture needs a cash injection so I'll be using the wife's car for a bit when this sells.

It's a MY00 version 6 Type RA V-Limited with the blue seats and rooft vent. she has only covered 28k miles and is in excellent condition.

The previous owner spent over £7,000 in May this year at API and since then I have spent in excess of £2,000

The work carried out was:

TEK 3 Re-map
Knocklink
HP Fuel Pump
Decat Downpipe
Full Exhaust System
4 Wheel Laser Alignment
Reconditioning of the Diff and Gearbox
Eibach Pro Street Coilovers (great for day to day driving, not harsh)
Lightened Flywheel
Blue Sti Mud Flaps
Clear Side Lamps

It also has new wheels and tyres

Only a few weeks ago it had fitted:

Scoobyclinic 6 pot brakes conversion
Braided Hoses
Exeedy Clutch - Supplied and fitted by API
Serviced by Scoobyclinic less than 2k miles ago

This car drives perfectly and it's a shame to see it go but I need to free up the cash..

It's pushing out around 330bhp a pulls very strongly in any gear, the DCCD is fantastic.

I'm looking for £11k - No part ex as it's the cash I'm after...... Here are some pics.

These cars are very rare in this condition with such low mileage.

No thanks, mine's faster and newer but you do have more stickers than me

good luck with the sale.

Fogot to say, it's got a brand new expensive Pioneer head unit with built in bluetooth, new Infinity speakers all round.

Bloody hell, spent a fair bit in that short time!

These are rare, but its hard enough finding a low miles Sti 5/6 let alone an RA...

Hi Mark, Yep, they are rare in this condition and mileage, the chap before me spent a fair ammount and I've spent a bit too, it needs nothing doing to it...

Still miss the DC5 a bit but the performance on this is on a different level, it's so neck breakingly quick...

Roll up ! Roll up !

This is a really nice car with almost nothing foreseeable to spend on it in the next 2 years.

The previous owner went through it from front to back when it was here.
Not an expensive car considering the cost of upgrades in the last 6 months.

Cheers David, shame to sell it considering I've just forked out for a new clutch too.

Between me and the last owner she has had over £11k spent on her in the last 6 months.

What sort of top speed will it do with the close ratio box? Im looking for one but it will be doing a lot of track work, I had trouble with my previous 1993 Type RA topping out on track, do you know if the ratios of the later cars are similar?

You will not have any problems with top speed as this is the V-Limited and as such has a longer 5th gear. No topping out at 120-130mph

Excellent. Ive just started looking but your car sounds interesting. I wanted the Type R or RA, low milage, classic shape, adjustable centre diff and a late car. All boxes ticked so far. Ill have a look to see how it compares to other cars on the market, as I say, Ive just started looking

You defo dont want a px? Ive a nice cheap (£3k) Legacy auto estate, (twin turbo 2ltr 1996) that will be going to make room for the Impreza.

I have had someone view it who is very interested, it's pending the sale of his Scooby though and hew will know if he has a sale by Thursday, if he has then he'll be taking mine, so I'm not going to market mine until after Thursday unless I have too.

To be honest, I really doubt you will find a version 6 like mine in the condtion and miles it has, not to mention the £11k spent in the last 6 months. It really does make a lot of sense. Sorry, can't take a part ex.

Thanks very much for that, very noble. I am awaiting a reply and will let you know Thursday. Fingers crossed.
I would hate to see this car slip through my fingers, its a real Gem and would be a great buy for someone if I dont manage to get my hands on it

1-4 are close but then there's a step up to the longer 5th. Not ideal for track work I wouldn't have thought.

Why did it need box/diff rebuild at that low mileage?

My understanding is that 5th was a bit notchy so the guy beofre me had it done as a precaution, not sure on the diff, it is still 7 years old though... My EVO6 had a new diff after just 10k miles,,,

The pinnacle of classic sti engineering........worth noting the Quick rack steering and front helical diff as standard on this model.....

Good luck with sale...

Aaaah but!, you can get an RA 2 door in WRX or STi forms. Type R is always only ever 2 doors though.

Good choice of car though - enjoy it

Theres a coilover GB in the GB section if youd be kind enough to post your thoughts We have moved onto the next generation since you fitted yours so if you like yours youd REALLY like the new ones.

We have decided that the RA will not be a daily driver as planned, I just cant bring myself to use it for the work run every morning through the salt and rubbish on the roads. Its not like its a fun drive, we have a 6 month old daughter who comes to work with us so have to potter . The Impreza will be garaged safe and sound and brought out for meets, RR days track days and the occasional blast until the weather turns.
