It has the phase 2 engine, so why it's on a P plate, i'll never know.

Probably DVLA dropping a bollock.

Could possibly have been the importer saying it was older than it was and cost less so he paid less duty? Chap used to do it round these parts till his ex-misses shopped him

I've seen a 1992 GTIR on an 97 R plate before.

my p plate, is a V3 Type R, it looks like the 2 front seats have been changed also, as they look a tad different colour to the rears.
but very nice car mate, and should sell for that money.
good luck.

The engine code will reveal all, but all the bits look like a V5 car.

No pink I badge though!

I'm getting the feeling that this car is a V5 not a V4, i don't know much about them as it's my cousins car, he took it in part ex for a range rover at his garage, you guys obviously know your stuff and it is very possible that the DVLA have messed up, it's a nice car whether it's a V4 or V5 lol

call me if your interested on 07967416063

Sorry my mistake. I think the reason this car has a P plate on it was to avoid the SVA. If it is registered as a 97 model that would make it officially ten years old thus not needing an SVA test.

Id be very interested in this car, but with the reg being wrong for a v5 kinda puts me off.
i dont know anything about importing cars so is it ok to register a car to make it appear older than it should be? and would it become hard to insure?
shame really it looks like a nice car

think its sold mate and if its been in the country a while doubt there would have been any problems with insurance etc
