The time has regrettably come for me to sell my pride and joy for bricks and mortar.

In May 2005 I decided to give the 306 a heart transplant. The XSi 2.0 8V engine was removed and replaced by the Peugeot flagship engine, the T16. One of around 10 T16s in the UK and the only one in a phase 1 306 T16. The engine was professionally reconditioned and installed by Peugeot tuning specialists Peugeot Ecosse. This engine as standard is found in the rare 405 T16 and produces a healthy 220bhp, however, with the addition of an Ecosse chip and boost increase the engine produces a whopping 270bhp. This power may seem like a lot for a FWD car but the Tran-X LSD makes sure the power goes to the tarmac with minimal wheel spin (1st gear only in dry!) and maximum traction. Combined with a weight of just over 1 tonne we have supercar stomping performance. Say ‘bye bye’ Impeza, Evo, M3, Porsche, Supra etc.

Since the conversion was completed in May 2005 the reconditioned engine has covered only 4500 miles and remains under warranty until May 2006.

I am being truly honest when I say the buyer of this car gets a real bargain! I am thousands of pounds out of pocket but due to changing circumstances at home the decision has unfortunately been forced upon me. If I had the choice I would hold onto this car long term as I set out to do last May.

I have spent over £10,000 on this car (£5,500 +VAT for the standard reconditioned T16 conversion) plus the many extras listed below.

Insurance on this engine is only group 16! Insane I know! Therefore, insurance costs are very cheap for the performance. Fuel economy also isn’t bad at 21 mpg combined on super unleaded.

The interior of the car has been stripped out from the front seats back but the interior is included with the sale if desired. Usual XSi electrics pack. MOT March 2007.

Suitable for the daily commute to work and just as happy on the track. This car gives you the grin factor every time it is driven and the sound it produces is delightful. See for yourself with this short video (volume is essential):
