Black with red flip 1995 Impreza WRX with just over 120,000 miles.
That's the easy bit. Of course it's an import and, like just about any other Subaru of this age and background (in other words, any imported WRX), it's been modified.

But nicely, and with an aim to improving performance, braking and handling rather than impressing the boys at McDonalds.
So we've got:
-Link ECU with Knocklink and exhaust gas analyser
-RB5 suspension
-AP organic clutch
-Quickshifter
-HiSpec 335mm discs with Monster 4 calipers and EBC
Green pads
-17" ROTA wheels (tbc)
-4 good Hankook tyres (tbc)
-P1 front bumper and driving lights
-STi 4 interior
-STi 4 rear spoiler
-Decat exhaust system (all the way through) with
notionally legal Scorpion back box
-ATG panel filter
- Power Engineering pillar mounted boost gauge
See pictures further down thread
That combination gives a better controlled ride than the standard Japanese suspension without being as harsh as an imported STi. Power is available from very low down and builds beautifully to give a real top end rush. 0-60 is something under 5 seconds. The noise is nice and fruity without being antisocial or uncomfortable. Brakes are staggering and offer lots and lots of feel. There is no ABS. The headlights get a very welcome (and much needed) boost from the driving lights which, as well as looking great, work fabulously well. I have also fitted UK rear light clusters with foglights on both sides. No nasty external rear fogs.
The seats offer fabulous support and are all day comfortable. There is a Kenwood MP3 CD/CD-R/Radio fitted which works nicely.
There's a Toad Cat 1 alarm and immobiliser fitted and the wheels have good locks.
There is also a proper Towbar with full electrics fitted. Great for towing up to 750kg or for parking in crowded towns!
This is my sixth Subaru and I'm selling because it's time for a change. It has been looked after properly by me and the previous owner, who imported it from Japan. It has a full service history from specialists (before) and Subaru main dealers (with me)and has always been run on Optimax/BP Ultimate. It's utterly reliable.
Condition is very good. It's straight and, though there are a couple of stone chips and car park marks I would describe the bodywork as excellent. It's been regularly Swissol treated and stays nice and shiny. Pictures don't really show just how nice a colour it actually is... The interior is unmarked, wheels are good and tyres have plenty of life in them. I also have colour matched touch-up paint which will come with the car.
From a maintenance point of view, it has recent rear hubs, discs and pads. The front pads are also recent. The rear wheel bearings have been replaced now and the front brake rotors are new. It's just got new plugs, fuel filter and gearbox and diff oils on top of the normal service.
Original exhaust and wheels are available should you want them. You should note that the original wheels will *not* fit over the front discs.
That's it. A great car, honestly described.
Oh, a couple of things worth mentioning. MOT and Road Tax have both recently been renewed and run until October 2006. It is currently being serviced by a Subaru main dealer prior to handover. It needs to be booked in for a firmware upgrade on the engine management which should improve fuel consumption and increase power and torque.
Please feel free to ask if you want to know anything else.
Oh, the price? I'm looking around £5500 but will listen to suggestions. Not really after a PX and, though it's probably not necessary to say it here, the only way I'll ship it overseas is if you come to my bank and pay cash in first, in person. And please, if you're a canvasser then I know you have a job to do but please don't put me in the position of having to be rude to you by calling.
You can get hold of me by e-mail to simon(at)motorbikestoday(dot)com or by PM.
Thanks,
S(imon)B

I hate to say it, but I think you are asking too much. You have some decent mods, but its still a MY95 with 120k.
I have just bought a MY00 with 95k for 5k.
And thats a V4 rear spoiler btw.

I was interested till I saw the price (and the towbar).
The mileage is high at 120k, so no offence, but I was expecting it to be nearer £4k.
Trouble is it's a buyers market at the moment.
Very nice looking car though.

Thanks for the comments, chaps. I've amended the description accordingly.
The mileage may be a little long but the number of things that have been replaced may help. I really don't expect any bills other than fuel in the forseeable future.
That picture of the front is odd. There are nowhere near that many chips - I don't know what has caused them to look that bad but I will take anew shot over te weekend if I can. That will show the new wheels, too.
If the towbar is a problem I can take it off easily enough. It takes about an hour to remove and leaves no trace of having been there...
If you feel the price is too high, fair enough - make me an offer if you're interested and we can talk from there.

dont let mileage put you off - especially if buying an import...
this car has average miles for the year and looks a very tidy example with some decent mods...
Rather buy average/high miles with documented history than something showing LOW miles with no history...... (like MANY Fresh Imports..!)
Anyway goodluck with the sale matey..

OK, another update.
I've bought a new car (well, put the deposit down anyway), I've booked this in and paid the deposit for a remap and firware update on the ECU and I need to get it shifted.
So I'll take £5000 and you just pay for the balance of the work.
To put it all into perspective, once the ECU is done I will have spent £2800 in the last three months and the car will be as near perfect as you'll get.
But it's time to change and the mileage I'm doing, combined with the number of times I need to carry lots of kit and people means that something a little bigger and more comfortable is the way to go...
So come on, folks, make an offer and see what happens. I'll not be offended as long as you're not actually rude

Need to shift the car right now - new one arrives imminently.

So.
It's going on e-bay with a £4100 opening bid.
If you want to offer me more than that, please feel free to do so offlist. But the remap is no longer included in the deal - that would just be silly.

New pictures showing the new wheels and what the front end actually looks like!

Forgot to mention - I've de-tangoed the front wedges as well
So come on - make me an offer!

OK, so lots of watchers on e-bay but no bids. Apart from the obilgatory Sierra Leonian, of course...
It's gotta go, folks. Try A-Plan in Newbury for insurance - they're happy to handle imports and competitive as well.
And try making me a offer. If Daz72 made that offer today we'd probably be able to come to an accord.

Sorry mate - brain failure...
Is the remap really needed? I guess not. But it will improve fuel consumption for sure, as well as giving more power and torque.
It's not exactly gutless now, but can you ever have too much of a good thing?
