Default STi5 Type-RA v-Ltd for Sale

Well the time has finally come (after putting it off again and again) that I now have to sell the Scoob. The amount I am paying in tax for my company car and the purchase of a house has forced my hand and I need to sell the much loved Impreza.

This is a 49500 mile 99 Plate STi5 Type RA V-Limited. Number 476 of 1000.

Price: £11900 ono

This car was imported into the UK brand new by the first owner, I have all the original paper work from the import including the BIMTA certificate of Authenticity.

My plan originally was to turn this car into a project but with the amount of time my job takes up I have not had as much time as I originally wanted.
I have made some changes but on the whole this car is pretty much standard as the day is rolled of the production line.

So far I have undertaken the following work.

Full engine rebuild including the heads (stripped and re-shimmed)
Included in the rebuild I have;

Lightened and Balanced Crank
Lightened con-rods
Racing bearings and piston rings
New Head gaskets and inlet manifolds
New CAM seals
New front crankshaft seal
Upgraded oil pump
New Hybrid turbo (V3)
New Ignition Leads
New STI Performance Panel Filter
New MAF
New Battery with 4 year Guarantee (Cadnium based)

The engine rebuild was performed by Jim at L & M International. He performed and great job and has personally guaranteed the engine for 12 months. I have full details of the work undertaken by Jim with his contact details should anyone wish to ask him about the rebuild.

The ECU is standard and I have not de-catted the car. So far the upgrades I have fitted to the car have made no difference to my insurance policy as the BHP has not increased and therefore my insurance company has not been in the slightest bit interested.

I have also carried out the following upgrades;

Hayward & Scott rear silencer (I also have the original)
Standard rear disks with APEX Pads.
AS Performance 10 Groove front disk (Standard size)
Brand new Pagid RS 4-2-1 front pads (fitted just before Christmas)
New powerflex front anti roll bar bushes
New Subaru Rear cross member bushes

On purchasing the car it was already fitted with a CAT 1 alarm/immobiliser and a tracker which I have kept payments up on. The tracker saved me 10% on my insurance policy, well worth having.

I have all the paperwork for the car since new and the full services history (services has been carried out every 3000 miles).

11 months left on MOT.

On the sound system side of things I have the following fitted and will be selling with the car (Professionally fitted).
Alpine Phantom face
200Watt Kicker amp 4-channel
Magnets Front door component speakers
JBL 3 way 6x9 rear speakers
The car has also been dynameted in the front doors, rear speaker shelf and boot.

This car is great fun to drive and I will miss it, I hope it will end up with a good home.

Pictures can be found on the links below, please feel free to contact me on the email address below should you have any questions.

Hate to throw a spanner in the works but I think you'll be lucky to get any where near your asking price.
My version 6 Type R WRC was for sale for a while. I ended up letting it go for well under 10k!
Its a buyers market mate. Scoobys are all over the place now Ltd or not so buyers have a huge choice and offer what seems to be rediculous amounts for them! Mine had 38k on the clock and had a recent new STi8 engine (over £5k worth)
I'll never have another as I lost so much money on mine in 2 1/2 years.

Good luck!

Default Price Change

Hi All,

I have had another thought about the price and the impending house purchase going through...... Also once I moved I won't have anywahere to store the Scoob and I don't want to leave it out on the street.... Based on this I have dropped the price to £11,150.

I have read some feedback from this thread and I understand that there are lots of Scoobs on the market that go for less than this but I feel I am offering a lot including a engine warrenty(10 months left).

If you have any questions please let me know.

Cheers

Not sure you can compare yours tho Skoobidude, even tho yours was a minter, the fact that it is on the Register as a CAT D will always make the price lots less.

Lots of other peeps have there Type R's at a similar price, due to the rarety and the fact they now can't be imported. So iIwould say the STI Version 5/6 RA Limited should be somewhere the same, maybe a little less due to being a 4 door, but the fact remains that they are basically the most hardcore raw Impreza ever built, and are nothing like even a standard STI 4 door, so the price should reflect this IMHO.

At the end of the day it all comes down to how quickly you want to sell, if are in no rush to sell, then you will probably get near to what you want, if you need a quicks sale then you have to take what you can get.....

Default New Price update

Hi,

I have been doing some research and I have come to the decision that I need to adjust my asking price to better reflect current market conditions...

The car is now up for £10250 ono and I will also be adding it to ebay in the next few days just to see if there is any up take.

If you have any questions please let me know.

Cheers

This is around the figure i paid for mine 6 months ago, with only a couple of little niggles/ie ding on wing/no rear fog,the car was immaculate.

Also benefiting from low mileage, ecu tek, decat etc, rolling road figures 324bhp/300 torque, wheels at £500 a corner and an owner who had spent money on car/sensible modifications even though only owning for a short while.

I,d say this is a realistic price, you might just have to be patient at this time of year.

Good luck with sale.

Hi Mate,

Good luck with the sale, hope you get what your asking as I regretted selling my MY96 STI RA V-ltd.

I have a RB5 now but it has nothing over the RA, except the speciality of the RB edition.

If I had the chance to go back I would jump at it.
