Default Toyota MR2 GT-S Turbo in Black

Evening all.

After much deliberation I've decided that my 'other' pride and joy is spending too much time standing still and needs another home. Full details (inc. specification, history, and pictures) can be seen here on my website;

http://www.sopertek.co.uk/mr2/forsale

For the sake of brevity, here's a quick summary;

o 1993/K
o Astral Black
o 73,000 miles
o Immaculate inside and out
o Detailed service history
o 1 UK owner
o Sensible enhancements and modifications
o Price is for car and other goodies
o £3,200

Contact details are included in the link above. Thanks for your time.

Jonty.

Whats the story behind the pics of the stoved-in front end? Same motor?

Yup, same car and all quite innocent, if not somewhat dumb on my part. After a week of owning the car I'd still not got round to getting the rear tyres changed and had to swerve to avoid a van near work. Thankfully the car only had a small spin and was fortunate enough to bump into a young cherry tree. The car had a new nose cone, rads, and the air-con was re-charged. No other damage.

Some may question why I left the pics up on the website when I'm trying to sell the car but there's nothing to hide and the site's testament to how the car's been well looked after.

Cheers,

Jonty.

Hi Dion. Whilst I appreciate your opinion, I certainly disapprove of your tone and use of language towards me -- even if it was masked.

Purely for the benefit of this thread, yes I could have sold the car and not mentioned anything about it being involved in a prang... but both the car and I have nothing to hide. Having owned the car for 5+ years, I'm known within MR2 circles and so's the car and parts of its history.

Imagine the scenario if a would-be buyer discovers such a detail after injecting time and expense into a possible purchase. Not only is the car subject to question and doubt but so's the integrity of the seller. Sorry, but that's not how I operate and I'm proud to be honest and sincere when it would appear that others in society would choose to be dishonest.

I would invite anyone who's interested in a well looked after MR2 to browse my website in full. The pictures have been there since day 1 -- certainly suspect if a couple suddenly went missing when the car was put up for sale. The rest of the content simply affirms the integrity of not only the car but its owner during the last 5 years and any interest shown in the sale will be met with full details and specification as necessary.

Thanks for your time.

Jonty.

Maybe if you had mentioned the little encounter with the young cherry tree in the ad,
people wouldn't have been so suspicious of your motives of not mentioning it!

Is the car on the register??

Forgive me but I'm not sure which register you mean. If it's a UK car register which holds details about owners, finance, accidents and write-offs then it either will or won't be depending on relevance. There is no outstanding finance on my MR2 and the repairs back in 2000 were conducted via insurance and by an Axa approved repairer.

Whilst I don't set out to question the opinion of others, I do feel that your questioning of my 'motives' is somewhat un-just, but I certainly don't want to enter into an argument over this.

If you take the time to consider sales best practices, it's encouraged that any defects or criticisms are never mentioned in adverts, no matter how insignificant the seller may think they are. Therefore my stance to be open about issues which currently affect the car is more than favourable for advertising purposes and my motives not open to question. Those who enquire are given the car's full history from day 1 and as yet the tree incident has not been an issue.

As a request I'd be most appreciative if this thread could revert back to the For Sale item that it was as opposed to a debate about my motives or whether I'm an intellectually challenged part of female anatomy. Not wishing to be sarcastic, just honest.

Regards,

Jonty.

Hi Dion. Although not obvious to you, for some reason I actually misinterpreted your post earlier and read it as encouragement FOR selling my car and NOT telling the buyer about its mishap, and that I was daft for highlighting it on this thread. Funny 5 minutes on my part and for that I apologise, but I still stand by my points raised.

I haven't gone into the advert as such.

I can say the grammar and spelling is a breath of fresh air, something that has been sadly missing from these boards.

Good luck with the sale and BTTT.

If I see one more f*cking post where someone uses the word "your" instead of "you're" I will chew my own f*cking **** off!
