Default 1996 N Plate WRX-PRICE REDUCED!!-Gorgeous Condition,Genuine Reason for Sale- Reduced!

Hi all,

For sale is my '96 Impreza, 260bhp standard (Grey Inserts in seats) but now probably 270ish, mayeb 280bhp :-) in extremely good condition. I have owned it for about 3/4 months and am selling because i now get the use of a company car, a diesel!!! Car has done 81k miles but has had a lot of the 81k- mile- old pieces replaced! It really is a stunning example. At most shows and meets i go to, this car gets a lot of respect because of it very good condition and subtle mods that really make it appealing to the Impreza enthusiast.

Here are some details about the car:

History/MOTs/Useage etc:
Has masses of service history, some from Japan i believe. Has 12 months MOT and 5 months TAX. I have all documentation of modifications and services. The guy who owned this car before me knew nothing about cars and was a member of a Subaru club, so he asked them everything and the boffins pointed him in the correct directions. He had everything, mods, servicing etc done properly and has spent thousands!! I also have all the old MOTs since the car was imported, which was in 1999. Ever since he owned the car and since i have owned it it has been serviced every 3-4k miles and Optimax has ALWAYS religiously been used (despite the blo*dy cost!!). The car has never been raced on a track.

Modifications:
17" Oz Superleggera Alloys with Pirelli P1 tyres, all with plenty of life left in them.
P1 Front Splitter
STi4 rear spoiler
Car has been colour coded all over, bumpers, skirts etc.
MOMO top of the range Steering Wheel and Gear ***
Pioneer p600 CD/MP3 stereo, with upgraded rear and front speakers.
Halewood and Scott exhuast (think this is the name of it...)
IGT Panel filter
Engine Rebuilt by API about 10k miles ago, have receipts for this. Again, cost an eye opening amount!

Drivetrain/Brakes/Suspension:
Brakes have all recently been replaced and pads and discs have loads of life left in them.
Laser-aligned tracking has been carried out, as a silly cost!
I think most of the rear suspension bushes and front have been replaced, the MOT guy said the others will not have to be worried about for a long time.
I also think springs and shocks have been replaced with newer standard models.

Bodywork:
Obviously the above mods.
Paintwork is in extremely good condition and when cleaned the car does look like a newer than 96 shape car, mainly because of the splitter and spoiler. Small patch of rust on end of bonnet, but has been treaed for last 3 services and painted and looks ok, barely visable. Apart from that, the car is in very gorgeous condition.

Few more things:
I have owned 3 turboed cars before (200sx, EVO 4 and 300zx), so am aware of the tell-tail signs of things going wrong. Turbo has no play in the shaft at all, lateral or in-out. CAr doesnt smoke at all and is always allowed to warm up and cool down, much to the annoyance of the neighbours!! the car pulls smoothly right up to the red-line, no coughs or splutters and all, and does happily pull away from standard EVos from 5-7 model. Really is a great example. I also have the CAT, as the exhaust is a full system. I really will hate to see it go, but the company car will free up some money for me.

I have probably missed a few things, feel free to call me to discuss - 07970 600438. Might not be best to post on here, as i dont get chance to go on that often. I am always available to answer calls.

Few pics included below. Price: £5500. Believe me, the car really is worth it because it has been maintained regardless of cost, by all owners.

Thanks

Scott

Edit: Price Now £5000

EDIT: PRICE NOW £4800!!!

Sorry, images i have posted dont appear to be working. Is there anyway that someone could help me? If not, i can happily email the pictures. They are really good ones and do show the car in its best way...

Thanks

Looks great to me, but there is a very similar looking one for sale at the moment for £4700, that is a 1998 - albeit with 116k miles?

And I have also seen 99s for £6k - perhaps people are expecting more at the moment?

Yeah, STiX, i can see your point. Maybe i am pricing it a bit high, but i have seen worse for more money, and i guess i was just going by that. The newish (10k) engine by API i thought would justify the 5500 price tag, but maybe not. I am open to offers, but it does need to be seen to admire the condition and history. Has so many receipts, for so much done to it, replacement parts, new parts etc. Not sure....

Thanks for the comment though.

As long as you aren't in a rush, stick to your guns - I am sure it is worth it, it just seems to be a buyers market at the mo.

Cheers StiX. I love the car to bits, happy to wait a bit as i still really enjoy owning it. Just be nice to go to another huge enthusiast, sooner rather than later, and id rather it not go to some young lad who might wreck it.

Where are you based? I have been looking at selling my bike and buying another WRX, I sold my M-Reg WRX which was very similar to yours to buy the bike and now wish I hadn't!!

Is it fully de-catted? If so did you have no MOT emissions problems? Or have you still got 1/2 cats?

Cheers,

Ian.

It'll be the same as mine was - 2 cats: 1 on the downpipe and 1 on the middle section.

Have replied back mate.

Aceman,

Thanks very much mate. So many nice people on here! Ian, STIX was interested but the missus held him back :-(. I wouldnt have to sell in a hurry, didnt expect to find a car i wanted for a while, but i staumbled across it on ebay of all places. The guy is holding it for me, but can only ask him to do it for so long before it becomes rude. Thanks for the comments. Much appreicated. Hopefully someone will view it and see exactly how good an example it is!
