Default 1999: STi 5 Type R - V Limited

Dear all,

A change in job circumstances means I have to travel another 150/200 miles per week .... my normal trip to and from work is only 50 miles a week. In short this means it is no longer practical to keep the Scoob and rack up miles at a rate of knots.

The car has only covered 19,700 miles and has was bought from my best mate last September after he decided he needed to buy a Mitsi Evo . The car had previously been imported early in 2004 and judging by the seatbelt tags was registered well after Jan 1999. I have all the original Jap paperwork for inspection.

The car was pretty well in standard trim when I got it apart from the 17" OZ alloys, the aftermarket bonnet vents and exhaust (am not sure what it is - not too loud though). It had done 16,200 miles at that point.

I took the car straight up to the Scooby Clinic for a TEK3 re-map, a set of Defi gauges and some extra mods to the exhaust (de-cat d'pipe and turbo up pipe). The car was setup by Pat The Map and has run like a dream since on Optimax. The car was also given a thorough once over and all the fluids etc were changed. The car was recently MOT'd back at the Scooby Clinic and had its 3k oil and filter change.

Other purchases included an alloy STi gear **** and a set of STi overmats.

The car is in fantastic condition and has not been thrashed as I am fortunate enough to own a weekend car to blow the cobwebs away.

It comes with 11 months MOT and 5 months tax.

I real this car is a very rare beast but it is priced to sell. I would consider a Golf TDi 130/150 3 door or A3 TDi 130 Sport in PX ... sorry for being specific but they're the 2 on the short list.

Please feel free to drop me a PM if you have any questions. Failing that I will endevour to pick up calls during the day on my mobile although evenings would be better.

Price: £10,995

Am not sure scooby-tc on the vent .....
.... it has all the other marks of the V Limited and was noted by the guys up at the Scooby Clinic. Will try and do some digging.

Thanks for the nice comments. Can't say I'm looking forward to the daily trot to work in the diesel either.

V-Limiteds have the roof Vent, plague number on dash and blue seats. It looks like an STi Type-R V5 just like mine!

Have had a few conversations about this now ....

It was sold to me as such. The car definitely has a number of features not normally seen ... 10k rev counter, limited edition Momo wheel and aluminium embossed pedals.

The guys at the Scooby Clinic also commented on it rarity so I had never questioned the authenticity of the statement, especially as the engine number tallied with a V-Limited, albeit I agree it has the same number as a normal 99 Sti5 Type R

No misrepresentation intended at all ! It would be down right stupid of me to try and pull the wool over peoples eyes on this forum.

I hope from the photos that people can see the excellent condition the car is in.

Cheers

A lovely car and a great price only not a V-ltd These are only in 555 Blue (not sonic as people call it, that is slightly lighter as on the P1.) All V-ltds have the roof vent but V5's don't have the number plaque on the dash or the blue seats that is only on the V6 which also has a 1" higher rear wing.
I can see a nice V5 type R now on my drive

Thanks for the feedback Col ....

Car is now sold and turns out to be a Limited Edition Type R. I had already apologised for any confusion.

Unfortunately due to the DVLA being a waste of space it didn't go to the first person to want the car.

Thanks to everyone for the nice comments about the car ... and the constructive corrections

Cheers

er, paint code of every "blue" version 5 sti v limited and sti type r v-limited I have seen is 74F which is sonic blue, same as on my wrx sti IV type 22B (not v limited). It might be called 555 blue but it is 74F none the less. It was certainly called sonic blue on the 22B.

Sorry about the colour I'm talking from a trade point of view not what the dealer calls it. The paint code on any chip for the slightly darker blue as on V-ltd's and 22B is Rally blue for ICI or 555 blue for Standox (the best match) If you spray in sonic blue it will be a lot lighter.

Shame you had to sell it.

Liv Vic put a second car on my Scooby policy for £300 a year. I went out and bought something cheap and reliable for the miles.

Good luck to the new owner.
