For sale – RED 93 WRX 4-dr 122k
Due to an impending relocation from Surrey to Leicestershire, we’re looking at selling our beloved scoob. It will be a very sad day when she goes but the aim is to buy a cheap runaround and then be back with an STI5 or something in 6 months or so.
For a 12-year old car she not in too bad a shape, usual stone chips etc. There are areas that need attention but due to work and relocation I just don’t have the time or money to carry out. See further below.
Basics:
1993 WRX 4 door – Red - 125k miles - MOT from Nov 04
Engine/Technical:
ABS
De-cat HKS from the front to Scorpion rear box
Group N 262mm brake discs with Ferodo 2500 pads
Helix Clutch and Sparco quick shift
Boost gauge
Prodrive suspension settings.
Cat 1 alarm
4 new-ish Toyo T1R - 215/40/ZR17
Styling:
MY00 rear spoiler
lightweight alloy bonnet, boot, and front wings
Hella driving lights
Sump guard
17" Compomotive 5 spoke wheels
Red alloy pedals
Bonnet catches (really work)
Fire extinguisher
Nardi Subaru wheel
Clear front and side indicators
Subaru black and red sun strip
History:
Service history in UK and from Japan
2 previous owners in UK (Both SN members)
Previously serviced at Cheam Motors and TSL Motorsport
She has been on The Ring, but not since I’ve owned the car (Nov ’02). Other owners have been/are scoobynetters. Car was listed as a 94, but after investigation is actually a very late 93. In fact Subaru made 10,000 cars in the first batch of Impreza’s and this chassis number is a few hundred from the end of that run – A true classic!
She still drives superbly and pulls like a train. A real head-turner and puts a smile on my face every time I drive it…
Now for the not-so-good bits
1. Indicators – They have stopped working, ecept when you manually move the stork up and down. I’ve had a look for the relay but just don’t understand what I’m really looking for.
2. Turbo Timer – Still bleeps, but doesn’t stop the car and the LCD display doesn’t appear. Again tried to locate things under the steering column but had no luck. I always let the car run after driving it, just according to how far I’ve been
3. Rear passenger-side door indent – A very gentle indent was made in a car park by some ba**ard. I’ve removed the grey bumper material, but the impact has sort of pushed a small area of the door in. I’d imagine it is case of removing the door card and gentle pushing it out – The indent has gone in about one or two millimeters from the overall shape of the door – it’s not a full-on dent and is hardly visible.
4. Clutch – This may or may not be knackered. I’ve not driven the car hard or been dropping the clutch, but I think time has just taken it’s toll on it. Having said that I’m sure it’s always been a bit noisy for instance when trying to get it in reverse, as it’s a racing-style clutch I believe. Changing down into 2nd can you can feel a judder.
I’d like to see her go to someone who can make good use for her and I’ve been honest about the above problems so she is there really as a blank canvas - further mods or for rally/track days – Even the 2.5 litre conversion…
We’re based in Carshalton, Surrey (near to Sutton).
Let me know your views etc and drop me a pm or email to: christopher_lander@tinyworld.co.uk and I’ll send pictures – Not sure how to post pictures
Cheers,
CHRIS.
