Default RS 3 Door Cossie Race/Rally car

For sale, Ian Gardener's "RS500" race car that won the Vecta Fast Ford challenge back in 1992. The car had been bought for Davie Jones (not of the Monkees, the one that invented Grand Theft Auto), and the engine was used in the Collins engineering Escort Cosworth (the black one before Escort Cossies came out), so a standardish engine was put back in (not an RS500 engine)before I bought it, but it does have lowered compression pistons, and a big wing sump. I bought the car with the intention of prepping it to go tarmac rallying, so I sold the RS500 intercooler, 8 injector inlet manifold, front bumper and tailgate with spoiler. I also sold the RS200 wheels and replaced them with competition 8 x 17" OZ five spoke wheels and tyres. So here is what is left now I have told you what is not there. Original Ford Motorsport shell with fully welded cage that has been done professionally, possibly by Boreham, no rot and possibly one of the best shells still in the country. Bag tank and quick fill fuel neck, although I believe the tank would be out of date for competition purposes. Competition Corbeau Seat and harnesses, RS steering wheel. Full extinguisher system, although again, I believe the contents are now illegal for modern competition. The suspension is full Group A hubs and Bilstein Coilovers at the front, with coilovers at the rear, the rear suspension arms have been fully rose-jointed to provide adjustment at the rear. The brakes front and rear are AP four pot calipers all round, approx 310mm at the front and 290mm at the rear, the car is aeroquipped throughout the fuel and brake lines, the pedal box is adjustable. The gearbox is a Getrag 5 speed dogleg Group A gearbox, with the clutch centre plate but no pressure plate or propshaft. The rear diff has been swapped back to a standard diff, but apparently has group A driveshafts although this may be Bulls--t. The rack is not power assisted, the radiator is a Group A item. The engine has all the usual oil breather systems, oil cooler in the front inner wing and there is an oil cooler with pump for the rear diff. The turbo is a special that was built for shorter circuits like Knockhill, but is more like a T35, but was built before these were readily available.
The car is for sale because once I was young and wanted to have fun, but now I have a wife and child, I'm just having to be more realistic. I am looking for around £4750 for the car, sensible offers will be listened to, silly ones will be laughed at then ignored. If the car is of any interest, please Pm me, or contact me on my mobile 07721 610095
