Thanks Tony, to be honest i'm amazed at the lack of interest in it. The new price is very close to what the first dealer i saw offered, and that's not for a part ex..just a straight sale so it's obviously worth quite a bit more.
If someone bought it at this price and could afford to wait while it resells i'm pretty sure they could make a tidy sum. But i need to sell v quickly so...
The older, commoner, cheaper models seem to be the ones most buyers are after. I guess that says a lot about most of the 'new wave' of Scoob buyers?!.

Good luck with the sale, not often you see later classic RA's for sale.

Dave,
Do these cars need octane booster with every full tank of fuel, and if so, is it not easier to remap the ECU for UK 97/8 fuel, or is that quite expensive? And where abouts are you? Thanks!

Soz about the slow reply guys.....
Hail - Hail, Sounds like a good car m8 but not really what i want the GF running round in, she can't handle the Corsa diesel she's got at the moment!
GreggyG, Yes i always use Optimax and Booster (Millers octane +). I use 1 full bottle to every full tank of petrol. Booster seems easier than a re map to me and i've no idea how much that (re map) would cost but there are dozens on here who've had it done...just do a search.
I'm located in Notts just off j26 of the M1.
Thanx for the interest,
D.

Soz Dave, couple more questions please!
How would you describe the condition of the car?
Has it ever had any bodywork repairs?
Has it been undersealed?
Are these cars inside at speed, or fairly quietish, I mean are they good motorway cruisers as well as 'A' road monsters?
I'm after a little refinement! (my age)
Many thanks
Regards
Greg

No probs Greg,
The car is in excellent overall condition. Its suffering from the usual stone chips and a couple of small dings. I had a guy to view yesterday who had travelled all the way up from the Southampton area to Leicester and he wasn't disappointed. In fact he told me that i'd made too much of the bodywork imperfections in my description to him.
Perhaps i could tempt him into posting about the cars condition on here ? (Hello Doug!!??)
It's never had any bodywork repairs.
I don't believe any of these models were undersealed and i've not had it done.
These cars are not quiet! There's no sound deadening and at 80 mph your @ 4000rpm. Having said that i used to commute 30 miles daily on a mixture of A, B and motorway and once did a weekender to Reims no probs!.

Hi Dave!
Yes I am the guy that Dave refers to in his note. I did travel up to Leicester on Friday to view Daves' Type-RA.
From what I saw the car is in great condition, I think Dave has been very honest with his descriptions of the bodywork, they make it sound alot worse than it actually is. For a 5 year old car the bodywork is in alot better condition than the majority of 5 year old cars I know including my own!!
Dave took me for a spin in his motor, and what can I say, the acceleration is breathtaking! it sounds great too!
Unfortunately I fell in love with an Elise this afternoon, otherwise I would have been doing a return trip to Leicester this week.
If I could have afforded both cars it would have been a great contrast to the Elise. What a daily conundrum that would have been to decide which one to drive!!
Cheers!

TTT Please!
Situation so far is that i've got 2 or 3 people interested (some contacted by pm for personal reasons!) who would take the car if they could only sell theirs!
The market seems dead at the mo.
Trouble is i'm running out of time so it might end up going to the dealer after all.

registered. I am not quite sure exactly what "Fast reply Doug to say you have only ever made 1 post" really means.......can you throw some light on it
4ndy, The car is a Version 6 WRX Type RA WRC Limited Edition no 454/1000 to give it the full title! It is not an Sti, tho there are many sti parts fitted as standard.
I've had many enquiries about the car and have dealt with one or two timewasters as a result.
Doug was/is a very genuine buyer (potentially was for me). Even though he's decided against mine and bought an Elise he's been kind enough to make a post on my thread. Not only that but it's a positive and constructive post unlike yours. You haven't even taken the time to read the spec or check out the images otherwise why ask if it's an Sti?
Take your ill informed negative posts elsewhere sunshine..until you know enough to have something useful to say.

Dave, its a typical knee jerk reaction I have. I spend loads of money getting a car running sweetly and then think that I should flog it!! I did that with the scooby and have regretted it since.
The drive from it is alot more rewarding but it doesn't take any prisoners. The scoob can make a bad driver look good, but i've had to learn how to drive again with the 993. Its an incredibly tail happy car, but when the tyres are sticky its an absolute scream. I would powerslide on a particular roundabout every morning on the way to work and be smiling from ear to ear
I'm half heartedly looking at selling it as I need to release some money.

Dave cant belive you hasnt sold this yet.
Yours was on ebay same week as mine.
Took a deposit on mine from the first guy that came to look at it.
Did your car come with the WRX sticker on the boot lid or have you put it on?
just that its a early type sticker.Mine has not got one, and i looked at 3 others in japan that didnt have them at the time i was importing mine.
In jap land its just listed as a "impreza WRC Ra Limited" not a WRX.
Good luck with your sale these are a top car and go like stink as a few of my mates with STi's know!
