Default FOR SALE: Subaru STI Version 1 Wagon, MY94

FOR
SALE: Subaru STI Version 1 Wagon, MY94

PRICE: BEST OFFER OVER £1500

Due to immigrating to Australia, and not really using it anymore the time has finally come to sell the wagon. I’ve owned the car for over 5 years now, majority of services been done by Prosport in Manchester. The car has just passed the 100,000 mile mark, with all receipts for work done in those 5 years.

It’s a rare STI Version 1 wagon, one of a limited edition of 100. I’ve only ever heard of one other STI 1 wagon being imported into this country but I’ve never seen it, so this is a rare car. Usual STI additions over and above the usual WRX spec include closed-deck block, TD05 turbo, water spray on intercooler, plaque on suspension turret detailing number etc. The car has only had minor tuning improvements, mostly a decat exhaust but has consistently shown above 280 bhp on 2 separate rolling roads ( printouts to prove it ), with 270lb torque.

The car has been run on Nitrous Formula Black for the last 3 years, and allowed to warm up and cool down in sympathy for the turbo. The boot area has been dynamatted to help reduce noise.

Good points

MOT until December 2005.

Replaced items include :-
Oil PC Valve - £10.00
Crank front cover - £55.00

Flywheel and clutch bearing - £330.00

Removable Nardo steering wheel - £93.00
Samco oil + water hose kit - £150.00
Rocker cover gaskets - £20.00
Assorted head gaskets - £80.00
Suspension rear drop links - £115.00
Exhaust up-pipe - £255.00
Ignition coil packs, new Subaru - £255.00
Power steering pump from P1 - £80.00
4 pot brakes from P1 - £300.00

TOTAL IN PARTS = £3,544.00
These costs are for parts only, and do not include labour costs spent on the car. Over £1600 pounds has been spent on the car in the last 12 months.

Bad Points

  • The body work is not brilliant - there is a scrape along the rear nearside door, and various paint chips consistent with it's age.
  • Misfire - There is a misfire/cutout problem 10 minutes from starting the car first thing in the morning. 5 minutes later it starts fine again, and never happens again until the next day. Garage have diagnosed a failed camshaft sensor. I'm looking for someone who's prepared to take on the car, knowing this problem. I could of easily hidden this problem from any buyer, but I'm being honest.
  • No tax.

This car as it stands would make a perfect track day car, with plenty of potential for tuning and expansion. With a little effort it would also make a fine street car, I’ve enjoyed it for over 5 years and nearly 50,000 miles.

Pictures can be seen here : Photo's

PRICE: BEST OFFER OVER £1500

The car WILL NOT BE BROKEN UP : I am happy for someone to buy it for spares, etc. but I do not have the time or facilities to remove choice parts from the car.

Thats the best price I've ever seen for one of these cars!! These are really rare.

Good luck with the sale mate and the immigration to Oz (lucky so-and-so )

First offer has come through : £1500.

Do I hear anymore ? I'm away from the country next week , but following week I'm available to show the car. Emails/PM will still be picked up as well, and I'll keep this thread open with the best offer's so far.

matt -

Based in Manchester.

All -

I'll get some pictures up tomorrow of the door mark I've mentioned, so people can see what it looks like. As I've said though, I won't have time to show the car until the 16th at the earliest.

Typical really, I thought they'd be no interest whatsoever.

Replies sent : best offer so far is £1700. I'll be unable to show the car to anyone until March 16, as I've just been sent out of the country on work from Saturday, but I'll be picking up my emails and PM's until then. So lease, keep the questions/queries/offers coming.

I'll update this thread for the interested parties every day until I'm back.

Well, when someone who lives 10 miles down the round pops over and offers you a cash deal, it's difficult to say no.

Best over I had unseen was £1800 - eventually went for £1900
