Default V reg yellow sti6

Rare Yellow with heavy privacy glass and gold 18" Technomagnesia wheels. You either love yellow or hate it but it is a head turner! Pictures are available on Scoobynet from the Coventry meet on the 7th. Nov. page 6. (midlands event section)

Sadly having had this car for only 3weeks, I'm taking the difficult decision to let it go as I've decided to go for a new sti8. Because this is a Jap import, I'm finding it impossible to get my other half insured without a lucky touch on the lottery.

Something people should be aware of (and I wasn't), jap imports are seriously frowned upon by insurance companies and to get a 24year old insured on this car with all its extras is serious money, even for me the insurance payments are £129 per month. I'm 42 next month with a clean license and full no claims! This coupled with its propensity for drinking huge amounts of Optimax/Octane booster means I have to go for something a little less expensive to run. I only run this car at weekends and to have those overheads for a car that is most of the time on the drive is excessive.

Brief history:

I can't be accurate with all this information as the extras that were fitted weren't fitted by me.
72K miles.
The car was imported brand new by the previous owner and it has never had anyone under the bonnet other than the highly skilled technicians at Graham Goode Racing in Leicester. The service history is fully comprehensive and has their stamp at all times.
The engine was rebuilt using Cosworth pistons and Arrow rods at 30ish thousand miles. It has a turbo fitted, which is a one-off, by GGR, but I'm not 100% sure of the type. Having spoken to Alistair at GGR I think its an sti7/8 turbo.
This car has never been on a rolling road but, I was told it was pulling 402bhp when I bought it, however Alistair claims it should have at least 360bhp. One thing that would substantially add to its power would be an FMIC which would definitely push it above 400.

Other extras include:
18" Technomagnesia wheels in gold with nearly new 225/35/18 bridgestone potenza SO3 (which make this car look the nuts!)
Tein springs all round
Group B brakes
AP racing clutch
Graham Goode exhaust system (not too loud)
Heavily tinted windows all round except for screen
Usual Jap extras over and above a Uk car (Climate control, folding door mirrors, and rear wash/wipe)
Usual sti extras, black/red seats, mats, and that bloody huge rear spoiler!!

Just testing the water really, as I'm not really in any great hurry to sell, but it would be nice to sell before Christmas.

I think this car is worth in excess of £14K with all the extras, but I'll be starting at £13,995 ono. may take part exchange - car/bike/van w.h.y?

Please don't try to email me at Shaunoss@btinternet.com as I've forgotten the password!!! Please try at s.kidd2@btinternet.com or preferably phone on 07967224618. Thanks!

No, it hasn't got the adjustible diff or the ic spray. It must have an uprated ECU to be performing the way it does. Boost? Not sure it doesn't have a guage........ close to 7 G's if thats any help!! I'll try to get into GGR at the weekend to see if they can give me a full spec. list of what its had done to it.

Another thing I forgot to add is the induction kit, made by whom i'm not sure, as I've said before I didn't fit any of these extras, they were all fitted at Graham Goode Racing who dont tend to do things by half. They have a reputation second to none and wouldn't fit anything if it wasn't the pukka thing for the job.

Shaun oh Shaun! I'll match the 3 gallons of Optimax and raise you a pint or two

Here goes...Shaun kindly let me have a his car for about 20 mins on Saturday afternoon while he washed and blow dried his hair and did his nails.
As a previous P1 owner I like to think I have a fair idea of power, perfomance and ability. Shaun's new steed is surely mighty quick and more than able beast. It was noticebaly quicker than the P1 and really made me give a double take on his Origin Blue as to the speed I was really doing in such a short space of time and road. It's actually quite brutal acceleration and wasn't letting up. For the first time in a car I had to watch where, how and when I fed the power back in. I loved it The excess boost was dumped with vigour and the cold air intake was always audible when on the move.
In the short drive I had it is very diffuicult to judge, but suspension felt taught and brakes were upto the job at hauling in from 3 figure speeds without fade.

A truely quick, quick car and gave me a big grin for hours after.

If you like yellow and don't want to 'blend in' with the crowd then look no further. This is a genuinely well sorted car. Unfortunately currently owned by a wuss
Performance per pound, does it get any better than this? A bargain!

Just out of interest, did your car pass the MOT ok with those heavily smoked front windows?
Mate at work is due for a MOT and reckons that his will fail due to the new laws.

Mot due in January, and i'm not sure how they will look at it. However, when i first saw the car I asked the previous owner if they were in fact legal, and fair play to him, he was honest and said "no".

I asked him if he was ever stopped by plod to which he replied "no"

He went on to add: "If they ever stop me I'll just wind them down, and they cant make me wind them up again, as it's an infringement of my human rights. Its not illegal to have no side windows, only a windscreen falls into jurisdiction"

He had them fitted because his wife drove the car a lot and being rather petite he didn't want some to55er chancing his arm at a quick car-jack. Quite rational thinking in my opinion, and for the same reasons, I wouldn't change them as my girlfriend drives it on her own occassionally. And it is very rarely as she's only 3rd. party.

Trust me, the car WILL have a full years MoT!!

Shaun.

You not sold the this flying custard pie yet?! Or with you in it should that be custard tart Any slightly interested parties should at least let Shaun take you for a test drive. It will probably end up in a purchase for some lucky sole.

Shaun you tried Banana Man (AKA Eric Wimp), Acacia Ave?!

Lovely car mate

I have a version 6 sti wagon in Cashmere yellow. Like you say it's a 'love it or hate it' colour. Very rare though, I haven't seen anymore apart from yours and mine.

Believe it was the Australian Rally Colour??

Hope you sell it soon - they are rare and unique.

Dave
