Sorry fellas. No part/ex. Cash needed on this one.

I think the car is priced about right looking at other cars being advertised in Top Marques at the mo.

If the car had only covered 30k, I'd obviously have it up for much more, and as there aren't many that have done 60k + this is probably the cheapest P1 in the UK.

The condition of the car is still very good with remarkably few stone chips on the bonnet considering the miles done.

I'm selling it on behalf of a good friend of mine who is currently in the USA on business (hence me helping him out). I've known the car since he bought it new back in 2000, and it hasn't been in any accidents, or been on a track once.

There's a load of I.C.E. in the car including CD Multi-changer, uprated speakers, sub and amp. Unfortunately the head unit is not connected at present so I can't demonstrate it to a potential buyer. It just needs someone with more stereo knowledge than me to cast an eye over it to get it going again.

If anyone wants to view, I can bring the car to work at Wheathampstead during the week so it can be viewed in daylight. Otherwise it's a weekend viewing back at my place just north of Hitchin.

Tax runs out at the end of this month, hence looking for a quick sale.
MOT expires 27th October 2005.

Yep, pretty sweet deal huh?

Of course the wife wants it shifted pronto as I've already got an Audi A4, Mini Cooper and Ford Mustang 5.0GT clogging up the garage and drive!

There are a lot more out there with that mileage than you may think, even at main dealers. In my experience they run better at 60k+, also, if you get to this mileage without any engine issues, you've probably got a good one. (check it out, they usually let go at much lower mileage!)

Regarding price, fyi I got paid out more than this for my stolen W reg P1 with very close to 100,000 miles on. This could be that cheap people will be suspicious of it and it may only serve to devalue the marque.

Anyway, its yours to do with as you wish so best of luck with the sale.!

(and a bttt for the afternoon)

I hear what your saying but I've based my pricing on what I've seen on t'internet and in Top Marques, and I saw one being sold by a (non Subaru) dealer with 60k on the clock for £13995, so I thought I need to at least match this price.

Most people would buy from a dealer if the prices matched, but I presume that there must have been some other issues with the dealer car for it to be so cheap.

I always thought the Subaru 2.0 four to be a really reliable unit, even when modified within reason. As it's an official Prodrive conversion sold through UK dealers, I wouldn't have expected any less reliability than a regular Turbo. I can't say that this car won't eat through tyres, petrol and brake pads fairly quickly when driven hard, but the engine feels like it's just been broken in.

Anyway I'm sure you lot know a damn sight more about the car than me, but I know it's the quickest thing I've driven and that includes a 2001 Porsche 911 and a Nissan 350Z.

A legit bargain, but no takers eh?

Maybe if I put a smiley here I can boost interest.

For anyone wanting to upgrade from a standard Turbo this would be ideal, particularly if you get on well with your insurer.

Gone in Top Marques (and their website) as of yesterday, so if anyone is interested you might want to arrange a viewing for this weekend when (hopefully) others will be doing the same.

Wife's perpetual nagging, means sensible offers around the £13500 mark will be considered. I'm not considering rock bottom trade offers at this stage as I am confident the car is priced very competitively and should sell to a private bargain seeker.

Have had a couple of calls from interested parties, but no-one has made me a serious offer yet.

Come on people. This is only the price of a new Focus!

Don't let me get fiscally raped by some trader. I'd rather someone get a bargain direct from me before someone else makes their mark up on it!

£13250 will buy you this car!

Well my month of paid advertising is almost up, so if you have any more questions, or are still mulling it over, make a note of my number, as I expect this thread to dissapear shortly.

Cheers.

Amazing that this won't shift at this price!

Has the big 60k service been completed, including the cambelt? Would you class the car as mint?

Car is still up for grabs folks. Christmas is a rough time to be selling I tell yers!

In answer to your question about the service - the 60k service is now due, and hence being the biggie, is the main reason why this is priced so low.

Given that it's over a grand below book, and that the rest of the car is indeed spotless (save for one scratch on the underside of the rear wing), the service should cost no more than £500 - £600 from what I've been told, this still makes it a bargain, as it's a perfect example of an unmolested P1.

Offers around £13k will be taken seriously still, but please don't waste my time by saying you'll come and look, and not bothering.

Oh yeah, no part/ex and if anyone else from Cardata (or whatever their called) calls me I'm going to use expletives!
