Thumbs up Richard Burn’s former road car (STi 6) - REDUCED AGAIN

STi Version 6, 4-door in Blue Steel (RB5 Grey).
This car was used solely by Richard Burns whilst he was under contract to Subaru/Prodrive. The car was imported from new by Subaru (1st registered keeper) and prepared especially for Richard, by Prodrive, and made to look like an RB5 – although it’s performance is superior.

Spec as follows:

49k miles
Lowered suspension
STi Carbon fibre strut brace
RB5 17” Speedline Alloys
5 speed MT with quickshift & altered final drive (longer gearing than std STi6, and longer than RB5)
Prodrive front brake upgrade (330mm Alcons)
New Avon tyres all round }
New rear pads } 2000 miles
Recent transmission replacement }
PIAA 120w driving lights with RB5 covers
Full leather interior & RB5 mats
Air con, Electric windows, Electric folding mirrors, Rear wash wipe.
Registered March 2000
Full Subaru service history (serviced at least every 6 months)
Taxed and tested until March 05
Cat 1 alarm/immobiliser
Prodrive badged number plates, and tax disc holder.

I’ve owned the car for 2 years (since Burnsie left Subaru!) and just feel like a change. The greatest expense I’ve had has been replacing the transmission. The oil thrower went on 3rd, and some of the other gears were wearing, so I opted to have the majority of it replaced.
The ABS pump was disconnected when I bought the car, when it came for it’s 1st MOT (just over a year ago) the pump was u/s, so it was removed completely, along with all the sensors, and re-piped as non-ABS. Prodrive front discs were replaced just under 2 years ago.
I owned an RB5 before this one, and this car much better. It goes like a train, and more surprisingly, the fuel consumption is excellent (better than the RB5), average over 2 years of 25mpg!! (I don’t drive like a girl all of the time!!)
The car has been referred to as a 4 door P1!

==== £13,995 ====

Tel: 07788 926 944
The car is located in Worcester.

Good luck with the sale.

Can't help thinking why they gave Burnsie this car whilst palming off what's basically a standard uk turbo on everybody else in the guise of RB5. Seems to me a bit hypocritical to bang on about how bad 'imports' are etc.

Not entirely sure as to who ordered the mods, whether it was Burnsie or Subaru/Prodrive - I'm sure Burnsie must have had some input tho'. And good sound input too, cos the end result is a blinding motor

Come on someone - MAKE ME AN OFFER!

Default RB5 Number1

The story is that RB5 number 001 went to Richard Burns. Are you saying this is what he had instead of a real RB5? If so, does yours have an RB5 numbered badge on the dash?

I believe that is correct. Burnsie had RB5 number 001 which he kept with delivery mileage on and had this STi6 made to look like one, which he used as his day to day car (presumably). I'm told that the car was "lent" to him whilst he was under contract, and was collected back when he moved on. I think he was under the impression it had been given to him (gutted). So no, it doesn't have a numbered plaque, cos it isn't actually an RB5 - it'd whoop the pants off an RB5

T5NYW - I'll buy you a lucky dip if it'll help!?

Sorry, not interested in px'ing. I'll be px'ing this soon if I can't find a buyer

spike69 - I'll knock the cost of one lucky dip off the price of the car!! (That'll be one lucky dip on the National Lottery at one pound sterling per go - before you get any ideas!!)
