Ta Andy I used Alan's cuscos and left them at the height he suggested and it worked very well. Then added a little more negative camber and the car handled better than i could have expected.

Smellyvag, with all those mods and track day/road driving, have you had any probs with the AP clutch?
I hill climb my Stiv3 and my new AP is not right!
Any comments?
That car is worth a ton more, but nobody seems interested in tuned Imprza's now?
Crazy, as I know the work involved.....

911,

Not a single problem with the AP which has only done 1000 or so miles. But to be fair, track use is not that heavy on the clutch. I would think yours has not been fitted properly.

SV, Silly question maybe, how do you run a 4.4 plated rear diff with a P1 gearbox? P1's are 3.9 or have you changed the front ratio too?

David,

Grade A gave me the complete gearbox and rear diff, which they claim to be 4.4. We had the cover off the diff last week and rally colin confirmed that it was 4.4. You checked the number the other day and told me it was a 3.9. So to be honest i dont really know

The front's gotta have a 4.4 in it else you be tearing the front off the back when you weren't going in a straight line. OR, maybe you have two mismatched halves and that's your problem !! You can count the teeth on the front crown wheel through the drain plug - if you make a start mark with tippex then you won't lose your place.... The crown wheel teeth count determines the ratio, as all Impreza ratios use a different amount of teeth.

This just get's curioser and curioser don't it??

David,

Well it certainly didnt do that. It drove fine in a straight line and round bends. I presume the front diff came complete with the gearbox. To be honest i dont even think grade A know wtf they sold me LOL. Your the one that confirmed it was a P1 gearbox by the numbers i gave you. The mystery continues .................

i'm interested but want to know a bit more about the car. Have you ever had on the rollers and if so what figures was it showing ?
Where abouts are you ?
Where did you purchase your parts from and which garage fitted them ?

Steveo, i dont think smelly has put it on the rollers properly. I know he has bought nearly everything brand new and this is a pure beast. He wanted to leave outside std so it looks like a normal scoob, its only when you try and race it that you realise its not! lol

YOu could easily do a few things outside and its deffo a show car.

All the mods are there to go for big bhp - all depends who maps it and how far you want to map it. It could be a 300bhp/300lbsft baby or could be a full blown 400bhp beast!

Whitey,

Yes m8 i have run it on the rollers several times, making 340 ft lb torque on powerstations rollers at 1.4 bar. I have now mapped the car to 1.1 bar boost for reliability and it sits around 300bhp. Personally for track use i prefer it at these boost levels, really the handling/brakes make the main difference on this car. Its a very balanced car that neither under or over steers but just sticks
