The car is based in Ipswich and is a standard uk car, no air con or leather, W plate fed on optimax, no track days. Last service was done on the 17/12/03, next one due 60,000 miles or 17/06/04. Am open to sensible offers.

This sounds good, because you're not in a rush. Where are you based? I have a vgc 99S DGM wagon (a bit leggy) to "relocate" before I have the spare funds. But I'm after the last model Standard Classic to keep for a long time- if it's the Apis's Genitalia, that is. 
It's got to be the mint of the mint, because I can't afford to make any changes for the forseeable future, afterwards.
