The black spot is the bumper! It must have rubbed on something.

I can get you some interior pics tonight - I'll mail them through.

I think you'd need to see it to prove the mileage, I have some service history - all in Japaneese, all I can makeout are the numbers!

I thought this mileage was pretty average for an import? I drive a 95 RA that arrived with 22k on the clock (last year) both drive like new.

Ok, its just that I went to see one in a garage that supposedly had done 23k miles, and it clearly hadn't. Bloke I was talking too practically admitted that a lot of imports have their mileages 'corrected', but also commented on the fact they do have lower miles generally also.

I'm sure yours is genuine, just wondered if you had any docs - which you have.

Another q, especially as you have had a couple of imports, any idea how much more the insurance is as opposed to a UK car? Bit of a daft question I suppose because of all variables involved, but just curious?

Insurance is a bit of a nightmare for me, as I had 2 bikes nicked last year and 6 speeding points in one month! Best quote so far on a UK standard 94 is £700ish fully comp, and I'm 34 with full no claims.

Also, what ICE is in it? No idea what standard stereo is like, I presume the CD changer is aftermarket?

What head unit/changer - make/age? Not that it makes a lot of difference but again just curious.

I bought mine direct with no middle man - I've also heard of some being tampered with when they've come via a uk auction.

Insurance - I'm 24 and was quoted 900 on a uk and pay 1200 on the import (RA) - thats protected with sp30 - presumably yours would be a similar % more.

The head unit, changer and eq are all Alpine, with an infra red remote, all work well - probably 5 years old from their looks, speakers appear to be original - so well used!

Cheers Chris

Bugger, if I have to pay £1k for insurance I'm afraid that your motor - even though it sounds just what I'm after - is going to be too steep for me. I was looking to buy a car and insure it for £6k, don't want to get a loan for more than that.

Is my maths bad?

I paid 33% more for the import than uk which would make yours £931?

Try Tesco - cheap as chips!

Neil - its not easy too easy to follow is it!

I thought originally it was down to the year of manufacture, but the MY's blur the edges a bit!

So a few months either way can give a different MY to the year.

Chris, I am going to try a quote firstly with who I was with last (Norwich Union Direct), and then perhaps Tesco.

Does it have an alarm/immob? If so Cat1/Cat2?

Anything else perhaps that an insure will ask possibly? Think apart from alarm then I know the facts.

Ah, oh well no harm in ringing for a quote tho. Its about £240 for a Toad AI606 fitted anyway I think, had one done on my last motor last year. Don't know how much difference an alarm would make to a quote, so I'll try with and without.

£947 - but they wouldn't quote without Cat1. Tbh I would have fitted one anyway if it didn't have one for piece of mind.

What was interesting:

1. They have the WRX in Group 20
2. They didn't class my two motorbike thefts as claims. They made a note of them but it doesn't affect the loading in anyway. I have a feeling a lot of companies do, which is why NU Direct were so cheap for my last car insurance I presume.

I'll try L&V and Tescos next.

How strange!

It seems that insurance companies are a continuing mystery!

Below are some interior photos.

Nice looking pics mate.

Ok, Tesco wouldn't quote me without a Tracker - end of story there then, did they insure you on your RA without tracker?

L&V don't give a monkeys about security devices at all, nor speeding convictions! They did take the motorbike thefts into account, but still came up with.....£753.92.

So that would save me £200 compared to NU Direct, plus an additional £240 if I had to fit an alarm hence £440 total saving - no wonder people rave about L&V.

Therefore, fancy selling me your car for £5247.08........?

Seriously though, I am interested in your car but is £6000 the bottom, bottom price you would accept or are you willing to budge?
