Default Autronic ecu

Autronic ecu froma 2003 car but will fit other years. This is a top of the range ecu that does anti lag and launch control. It gets rid of the maf sensor and keeps the engine safe with an inlet temp sensor. £800ovno

Did the manufacturer program it with any anti-knock strategies, a la the OEM JECS jobbie e.g. timing retard, high det fuel map, etc, etc...? Or is it like the PFC and the (current) Simtek, where the ign timing/fueling are fixed.

It has features like that built in and is on par with a motec ecu

copied some of the features of this ecu

Autotune (self tuning software).
Launch Control (two step rev limiter based on vehicle speed).
Flatshift (change gears without clutch at WOT using standard gearbox).
Antilag (keep turbocharger on boost during gear changes) with turbo cooldown function.
Selectable ignition tables. Output tables can be based on any X and Y axis parmentier.
Fuel and ignition tables have 32 rpm and 16 load site axis.
Many correction tables for precision fuel & ignition adaption.
Table axis values totally user selectable.
Multi tooth, missing tooth, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Ford TFI and Gen3 triggers. Software selectable trigger angle.
Dedicated idle control with additional settings for better adaption to changing operating condition and a more stable idle.
Dedicated Closed loop boost control, and other settings for stable boost pressures. Dedicated A/C compressor control.
Dedicated twin cooling fan control.
Dedicated NOS injection control, coordinates fuel & ignition.
13 General purpose control modules for O/P control. (use for variable fuel pump, power steering, inlet manifold air valves, extra temperature control devices etc) 4 of these are capable of PID feedback control (typical application for PIDs are variable camshaft positioning or inlet manifold length).
Mapping via manifold pressure, throttle position, manifold and throttle or manifold, throttle and exhaust backpressure.

Steve im running this same autronic ecu and im looking to get a map done on + 20% meth and a safe map just on v-power,im thinking the mapper can surely just map the meth map 1st at the desired boost say 2.0 bar (for track) and then do a boost alteration ( i have e boost 2 controller ) on the same map but with only v-power and see what boost can be achieved to still make a safe road map, does this sound ok ?.

Awesome ecu btw guys.

I did get my hands on the popular simtek ecu and was gonna have it fitted to mine for the very same reason,but...... was advised by some of the more knowlagable mappers i would be downgrading.

h4rdy, simtek is a good budget ecu thats why its a fortune cheaper than the Autronic, as for your maps you can either have mapped on vpower or mapped on meths but you can't have both. You can get 2 boost setting put in but not 2 fuel maps as if you could I would keep it as I would like a big meths map

Stealthy, I want to get the solaris so I can get multiple fuel maps on the car

Motec is the ECU of choice for many professional rally teams right? Or are a lot 'em now using Solaris... or even Autotronic?

steve will this fit an my99 without any loom issues? Also the launch control antilag will they need to be re-done or just the map itself? Final question on the flat foot gear change Ive a 6 speed in mine will it still work and does it do any damage to the clutch/gearbox?

Now that Im keeping mine I was thinking of going mafless so this would be sorted assuming jolly green can map autronics as well as simtek which Im sure he can

Garetgax, this ecu is plug and play for newage cars so I doubt it would fit? A seperate loom may be available but then yo may as well look for the right one for you car. As for the flatshift I pressume it will hammer the gearbox?
