Built 2 litre short engine
************* SOLD****************
Back for sale as the original buyer has just pulled out.
As in my car currently and done no more than 5k miles.
This engine was specced by myself after speaking to experts in the trade as I wanted an engine capable of supporting mods to take it to 450bhp and beyond, and to run a top end turbo at circa 2bar.
The short engine will consist of the following
STI 5 open deck block, rebored to 1mm oversize - 93mm
Cylinder bores matched to Mahle Powerpak Pistons
Lateral Performance H-Section forged rods
STI 7/8 cross-drilled crank
ACL race bearings - big ends and main bearings
ARP strengthened head studs
RCM modified oil pump
new modine and cambelt tensioner
Standard sump
The engine was expertly built by Len at Subaru 4 You and all new seals, etc were used. It has been faultless since build and was run in for 950 miles using mineral oil before changing for Motul 300V 15W50 fully synthetic oil.
Looking for £2k as is. This is a massive saving on the cost of having your own engine rebuilt and all the components are of a very high quality and this is ready to fit as is.
Cheers
Terry

Terry, thanks for the reply.
Sadly I can't finance the rest of the components required to justify such an engine, and that's before I think of the insurance!
Good luck with the sale, someone's going to get a super engine.

it says 5k miles but are those road or track miles, cheers my V5 typer is not long away from letting go and this would drop straight in would it not?also said you would sell built with heads, what spec are they and gaskets etc, cheers in advance,David
Heads are V6 STI and totally standard as are the head gaskets - no need for uprated items at this level.
Yes this would drop straight into yours if it's a V5 as that's what mine is

PM me if you want any more info and I'll give you my contact number to discuss in greater detail.
Cheers

Hi Stevie
I had sold it twice but both times buyers pulled out.
So it is not sold yet, so let me know if you're interested. I'm not bothered if I don't sell as it would be nice to have a good spare engine should my new build ever go **** up

This is one spot on engine build, and built by Len and Mark at Subaru, as Bartop said there work is notoriously good
I have a 'Spec(Terry)B' in my STi 5 Wagon also built by Len and chuffed to bits with it
... this must be a bargain as mine is the same spec almost but a STi9 crank and rods.. so 2k is cheap as chips
Just to make Lens Head grow more heres a quote left on my thread re my build that Len did ....
"..I didn't cotton on that Len & Mark did the rebuild. I would trust them with my first born. That rebuild will be as tough as old boots without a shadow of a doubt for a potential buyer
...."
You get the picture that this is a good engine build
