impreza turbo rear differential with a QUAIFE ATB
i have a subaru impreza turbo rear differential with a QUAIFE ATB fitted removed from my track car due to not racing a scooby next year
we are putting the scooby engine and box into a different car WATCH THIS SPACE
any one who knows about these QUAIFE differentials knows they are the ultimate thing for putting the power onto the tarmac. 450 bhp is no good if all you are going to do is spin the wheels when you jump off the clutch
QUAFE differentials transfer power from the wheel that looses grip to the other one which is still gripping allowing the car to carry on accelerating without loss of traction, unlike an LSD which locks the wheels together usually spinning them both
With an ordinary open differential, standard on most cars, a lot of precious power is wasted during wheel spin under acceleration. This happens because the open differential shifts power to the wheel with less grip, along the path of least resistance.
The QUAIFE, however, does just the opposite. It senses which wheel has better grip, and biases the power to that wheel. It does this smoothly and constantly, and without ever completely removing power from the other wheel. In cornering, while accelerating out of a turn, the QUAIFE biases greater power to the outside wheel, reducing inside-wheel spin. This allows the driver to begin accelerating earlier, exiting the corner at a higher speed.
was removed from 1995 wrx
will fit most classic shapre impreza from 1992 to 2000
will also fit non turbo sport models
looking for £350 complete
these ATB's are over £500 + VAT from quaife
postage available
thanks
