Default WRX complete engine - reduced

Complete engine from a 2001 WRX (UK Spec) only done 18k. Complete with intercooler, wiring, all pumps, etc, ready to go straight in. It was taken out of a side damage car and was running fine. Looking for £1250 ono, could also arrange delivery at cost. Few other bits left from the same car, doors, interior, suspension parts.

2001 WRX (UK Spec)
They didn't make a UK spec WRX in the classic. It'll be a Bug eye!

Question

I know it would probably 'fit' into my 98 UK Turbo, but would the wiring/ecu etc be the same? If not (as i suspect!) would it be a big job to convert it????

Alot more work than you think

You would need to use your inlet manifold or get into serious wiring issues, which means you need to use your heads as the new age heads and your manifold aren't compatable.

Not sure if it helps the conversion, but I have a loom to go with it, but sold the ecu a while ago. And yes it was a bug eye.

It isnt difficult to do, the WRX doesnt havent the headache of the AVCS like the STI which is loads more wiring.

Simply need to use the plugs/sensors from your old engine.

ie put the injector plugs from the wrx loom in place of your injector plugs
Use your Cam Sensor and it'll plug straight in.
Etc Etc

Engine also fits fine, slight adjustment needed if fitting classic power steering pump (to the bracket)

Yes I still have it. I have the original papers from when I bought the car which states the mileage from a repuatble supplier (as a damaged car for spares), but it did not have service history documents. I still have the interior from the car from which its easy to tell that its a low mileage car. The engine was running fine before removing it and there was no damage on or around the engine. If you like you can call me on 07865 075919.

If fitting into a Phase 2 car swap the inlet manifold and the cam and crank wheels as they run the new age ones have more pickups on them.

Works fine though.

As Conrad says, the newage engines are the same size. The STI one is slightly longer length ways due to the AVCS though.
