Default 2.5 Engine and gasket set

27/10/04~~~

OK, I have decided to definitely sell and pool all the cash to a MY03 STI, fit my TD05 20G and tune the nuts off the 2.0 instead.

Any Offers - It cost £1250.00.

**** Testing the water ****

Im thinking of selling my Brand new 2.5 'Bottom End' (still warpped and in the Subaru Box), together with a complete 2.5 engine gasket set (Head gaskets, inlet, exhaust, seals, and all other gaskets).

If I get a good offer for the engine, ill sell the gaskets separately, otherwise I would like to sell it as a 'kit'.

Edited.
Just re-read the post myself and want clarify, this is a bottom end (Black/Crank/Rods/Pistons etc), all assembled up and wrapped by Subaru. You will need to add 2.0 heads, sump, pump etc...

And All this on top of the texts you've been sending me.

Yup, its a complete assembled short block all wrapped up and sealed in a box with Subaru stickers and labels everywhere. Brand new, not reconditioned.
The same unit as fitted into the Type25 with the same gasket set in another separate Subaru box. All genuine parts.

Best offer over cost price gets it.

There are also no more group buys AFAIK.

BTW, The wife thinks i'm mad She's been storing it indoors for 3months!

What, after all the hard work I went to. You've not fitted it and now you want to sell it.

I can see that in future I will have to have conditions of sale

I thought they only used a 2.5ltr bottom end on the Type 25 and the rest of the engine was a JDM STi engine due to it being twin scroll?

Shame you have to sell though it would have kept you busy for a while
No doubt a good project for someone else, and much cheaper than a rebuild

Tony, you're right - the T25 uses the 2.5 bottom end plus the heads from the existing JDM engine. It also gets a new, bigger, non-Subaru twin scroll turbo. The JDM heads apparently have bigger ports than the US or Euro version, and for '05 they have AVCS on both cams too.

Tony, thanks for Beta Testing my post

Its the same Bottom end as the type 25. As above you use everything else off the donor car, although the T25 does have different turbo etc, as stated by Andy.

I have changed the first post to clarify this.

Stevebt. Hmmm, I could get a good caravan holiday for that! I would expect some sunshine as well for this engine.

J-K Might have it though!

Been away to Bournemouth for a week taking some exams. The place was full of cops for the conference And none of them knew where a cashpoint was .

My PM box has also filled up!

WUZ, NO! I dont need to sell, and the prices seem to be going up as supplies are getting sparser. I have two offers of £1300 by PM/EM so far.

Mark, I will PM you.

Mark A,

if they are a group buy, then surely you aren't selling anything, just helping other get a discount?

I meant I should have vetted GBers to make sure they put them to good use.

I've made no money from selling the 2.5's

The reason I've stopped importing them is massive hassles, I have a proper job saving lives (hard to believe but true) and grief from the wife.

Yep, orginally but then I decided to buy an Axis stage 3 which I managed to get a discount on because of the number bought. The 2nd and 3rd Gbs I've not made any profit from. It's not a big deal, and I'm not looking for sympathy.

Right,

I have definitely decided to sell.

The whole lot:
'Brand new' engine still in Subaru wrapper/Box/on pallet, &
COMPLETE 2.5 Subaru engine gasket set

Cost me £1250.00.

Anyone interested?,

It weights about 25-30KG, so I can easily put it in the boot of your car.
