JDM 6 Speed Gearbox "Kit"
Want to convert your classic (or new age) to a 6 speed box, I have all you need (apart for the mechanical expertise, obviously)?
Apparently the JDM ratios are the ones to have!
Due to couriers losing it, me buying another, and couriers finding it again (2 weeks later) I have surplus to my requirements:
JDM 6 speed manual box (not surectrac)
6 speed propshaft
6 speed gear linkage
3.9 rear diff
I have been quoted £2500 + VAT for the gearbox (from a well known breakers) and £1800 + VAT from another well known source, and the 3.9 diff was over £200.
Sensible offers please for all of the above (in excess of £1850). I do not want to split the above "kit". Would be preferable to be collected (from Bucks) as it is quite heavy. Parcel2go charged me £55 + VAT for a pallet delivery which is quite reasonable, but then they did lose it for a few weeks.
I also have available:
6 speed starter motor
6 speed clutch and flywheel SOLD
6 speed front driveshafts
Again sensible offers please

Mark A, I was expecting a bit more than that The release bearing I think is best part of £100, the flywheel is about £500, and the cover and plate about £350 I think. I know they are not brand new but.... The clutch must be able to handle a fair amount of power if they fit it with the 6 speed box

Update. We used the release bearing fitting the 6 speed in my box, though I have the one from the 5 speed, don't know if they are the same, I would guess they are.
The 3.9 diff turns (pun intended) out to be a 3.54 unit so will be going back to the breakers tomorrow. I will try and source another 3.9 diff though! I found one so maybe can find another.

MarkA I'm using the AP clutch I had fitted to my old 5 speed box. It was in reasonable nick, and is balanced to my lightened flywheel, so didn't seem much point in swapping it. Make me an offer around £250 and clucth and flywheel can be yours.
Catalunya, yes I would be interested, how much? Is it an LSD?

Don't know is the honest answer. Quite high I would have thought as the final drive is 3.9, but depends on what the ratio of sixth is. Haven't driven mine yet to know what speed per 1000rpm I will get. I'll post a question in drivetrain, someone will know.
