Has it had a rear thurst conversion ?

allsop83 04 February 2014 12:02 PM

No- it has had no machining work done

adamsoliver 04 February 2014 12:07 PM

Ok no worries im really looking for one thats been machined

gazney101 04 February 2014 12:48 PM

To be honest Adam that's why I would recommend to just buy a CDB and get the machining done by Alyn of ASPerformance for your piston size requirements.SJ.

stonejedi 04 February 2014 02:54 PM

Have you looked on ebay there's a few on there at different prices for sale.SJ.

adamsoliver 04 February 2014 02:59 PM

i dont know if i should just go semi closed then i dont have to do a rear conversion

stonejedi 04 February 2014 03:09 PM

What is your BHP target?SJ.

adamsoliver 04 February 2014 04:03 PM

Well i was think 4-450 sj

stonejedi 04 February 2014 04:07 PM

Semi closed block would do that comfortably all day long the engine that I have now put in my wife's car was running 430 bhp for 5 years without missing a beat so it could still be a option for you.SJ.

allsop83 04 February 2014 04:12 PM

Don't get caught up on machining costs- they are not huge and most good engine builders will include that in the work :thumb:

adamsoliver 04 February 2014 05:16 PM

Well im building it myself with my mate mainly looking at options atm i think scdb will be easier build cost wise

Stroker?.SJ.

gazney101 04 February 2014 05:29 PM

Couple of guys running over 500 on odb's so i think you will be fine at that level with a semi

adamsoliver 05 February 2014 12:14 AM

No just a forged ej20 sj

Adam a SCDB will do you just fine mate,it would of been nice though to use a CDB as you are going to be doing the work yourself thus saving money on labour cost and they are definitely a stronger block but for the power you are looking a forged SCDB will be perfect, when you get up and going it would be nice to follow your progress start a thread up in projects if you have the time:),all the best mate:thumb:.SJ.

adamsoliver 05 February 2014 01:44 PM

yea will do sj im a little new to scoobynet but ill get a thread up soon as i start my build
