http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/16307.html http://lateralperformance.co.uk/sect...impreza_turbos I would avoid a gt35 for road use, or a gt30 as the SC, MD and turbo technics seem better suited and less laggy for it. I run an s206 and by 4-4.5k im at full boost. Where as the GT30/5 is more like 5.5k 532.3hp on the meth mix and 485 on the v power only map on my turbo technics S206a, with the billet wheel and bearing upgrades on the s206b that now replaces the a that should be ever better on the lag side of things too |
The car will used as a fast road car. I may just do one or two quarter miles a year.. If that... I live in london so you can guess the rest.

remember that numbers are for bragging rights, spec the turbo to the sort of driving you will be doing.fast road car i think you will need something that spools up nice and early

Id be going alot smaller for a road car, really you only need 350ish to make a very capable road faring weapon, its all about spool :)

Alan and Martyn are the guys behind my car, take their advice, they have been in the game long enough to have tried every combination of parts and set ups etc and have done all the R+D on it, in a classic 350 is plenty on the road. I bet a 350 classic would beat my 500 classic on the road. Try it on a track and it will be a different story ;) |
Standard position front entry converted.
I know 350ish makes a good road car. But it good knowing you have about 450BHP+ under the hood |

dont get me wrong my blob is like a scalded rat off the mark but i feel it lacks a little in the mid-range punch department

Depends how long the road is:DSJ.
How big are your testicles is far more important when it comes to racing haha! So you dont want a fast road car? You want a pub figures dog of a car to drive? Why didnt you just say that! sc45, s206, md series, what ever floats your boat. :) But it will be a nightmare on the road and you wont be able to use even 50% of its potential, so you might have it but you will never be able to use it fully. But at least with 350 you could use it fully and will beat most higher power cars on the road if you can drive it properly, save yourself 1.5k on a turbo and invest in some driver training to use your 350hp and it will make it a much faster car. |

:thumb:good choice just make sure you are on the ball with your budget as from personal experience they can quickly escalate and leave you thinking that you wish that you never started it.its the miscellaneous parts that seem to add up when you think you have everything you don't,so just make sure that you prepare yourself well.SJ.

Sc42. Nice spooly turbo that'll be spot on for a fast road car. Drop a splash of meth in and you'll maybe see around 450 with exceptional spool. If your playing the numbers game then go with an mdx321t. Will spool a little later but still make a great road car
|
Thanks toyney83.
What price do these turbos go at? |
££££ new and second hand,billet technology cost.SJ.
|
|
£1500 for a new sc42. New mdx321t is around £1800. Second hand prices vary. I've got a none billet t on my 2.1 2005 sti. It's not really that leggy but I will be upgrading the compressor wheel to a billet 1. Should give an extra 25-30hp and slightly improve spool
|
Here's an example of a second hand 42 https://www.scoobynet.com/subaru-par...42-billet.html
|
Great help
|
Anyone know of anyone else selling a second hand good condition SC42?
