H11PKN 24 June 2013 08:13 PM

Subaru insured. Cheapest by quite some distance, used them last policy and renewal has dropped it 250!

Fudgey 24 June 2013 10:26 PM

I pay £300 for my uk300, an import was a bit more tho.
£250 is a bargain on any car these days!

Well, they just quoted me £1614 for my 330S.
Unmodified, full no claims, no accidents/convictions and no points.

To put that in perspective, I'm currently paying about £460

zenith 25 June 2013 03:53 PM

My renewal came the other day, £1300, 5 years no claims, I've just turned 30 with no points or previous convictions. I'm convinced it's a postcode lottery.

mystery_machine 25 June 2013 05:10 PM

are these cheap prices on modified cars? I can never get it anywhere near these prices :( and how do you find out if you live in a good postcode area, I would of thought mine was a good one but who knows lol :)

H11PKN 25 June 2013 05:56 PM

Just done it, over £2k, f**k that!

Edit: it drops by over £600 when i change the post code to a stockport postcode.

cobra_mark 25 June 2013 09:31 PM

I worked for a motor insurer, its all postcodes and crime stats.

My postcode means I pay nearly £700 at 49, if I move to say Grimsby the bill goes down dramatically. What joy :(

scoobyjunky 25 June 2013 09:45 PM

The lower the postcode no the higher the risk as in built up areas the higher the. No is the opposite obliviously

Fudgey 25 June 2013 11:29 PM

Im 32, soon to be 8 years ncb i think. Car is a std uk300

bugblue1 26 June 2013 12:23 AM

Stay put is best then, maybe its our age...45,I remember paying the same company £2500 for my P1 with my full no claims just a few years (had a ban for bald tyres)

stu turbo 98 26 June 2013 05:23 PM

Ive not had a sensible offer ever, insurance companies just make it up as they go along as far as im concerned,i was told that my quote had doubled because I live in an area where a high number of whiplash claims are being made, so do I have to pay for them?:hjtwofing

Just spoke to Greenlight who gave me a quote of under £800 which is nearly half of the renewal Admiral sent me.

H11PKN 26 June 2013 08:56 PM

Between insurance and running costs, it's no surprise so many are now getting broken!
