It was owned by a 70 year old ...grab it

wrx271 22 June 2013 08:51 PM

Haven't they all been owned buy mature owners lol that car should have a 2.2 engine correct being as its the same engine as the 22b

wrx scooby wrx 22 June 2013 08:52 PM

im viewing it first thing in the morning but i just want to know is this engine differant and as rare as it states also is it a good engine ?

salsa-king 22 June 2013 08:53 PM

the English and spelling says it all. :(

ditchmyster 22 June 2013 08:54 PM

The car looks ok and is a fair price if the condition is as described.

The seller is a typical ebay nobber that is talking mostly shyte.:thumb:

As above the 22b engine was a 2.2, this will be a 2.0l may be a cdb, it looks like a v2 sti but someone like mattyb will confirm exactly what it is.

salsa-king 22 June 2013 08:57 PM

check the colour of the silver on every panel

I got bored after the first few words trying to decipher where one sentence ends and another starts.

Sounds like a chav to me.

Good condition un-molested ones are getting harder to find, wether or not it's a good buy is a decision you'll have to make when you view it.

Like I said it should be a closed deck block but other than that there is nothing that makes it any more special than a later model STI, these early ones can be difficult to Identify but it should have an STI plaque on the strut top I think, just make sure you hear it from cold and blip the throttle to 2.5k rpm, if it gives off a rattle at that point it = bottom end.

And lose the induction kit and dump valve if you buy it.

Nothing special. It doesn't have the same engine as a 22b, the 555 iirc has the same engine. Over priced imho.

blackvenom 22 June 2013 09:21 PM

Another ebay idiot, it's a version 2sti as best. Nothing special about the car. Doesn't have the 555 decals, or 555 seats. He had been fed **** and now trying to past it on. Why would be fit mods only a couple of days ago then sell? Surely if it was rare you would keep it as oem as you could.

The Pink Ninja 22 June 2013 09:21 PM

Standard V2 sti, I've got a feeling this is the guys car, He asked on here recently about what car he had and it looks like he totally ignored all the advice he was given and still thinks they made a silver 555 without a roof vent :lol1:

It didn't get a different engine...It had a different engine number as it was a different varient but the v2sti and 555 shared the same engine block as with all thing Subaru in the early days of the impreza they just used whatever they has to hand at the time:lol1:

tubbytommy 22 June 2013 09:33 PM

Its a v2 sti
the rest is b0llocks......

I mean more if its been in a bump and re sprayed.

£3k should get you a good car.. maybe a bit newer too. Have you looked on the forum to see if anyone is selling?

:thumb: great research

wrx scooby wrx 22 June 2013 09:52 PM

so whats the realistic value then ? :)

53 22 June 2013 10:01 PM

It will be an ODB as well, not CDB :)

MattyB1983 22 June 2013 10:03 PM

The bloke is a nobber. I told him exactly what his car is on another thread and explained about the engine number.
He obviously chose to ignore it and miss advertise his car on ebay.

Car is probably worth low 2's if its nice.

Kwik 22 June 2013 10:04 PM

£1500-£2000 I'd say. I thought the same as Gaz, the chap set up a few threads asking what it was and when told what he didn't want to hear he started a different thread expecting a different response.

wrx scooby wrx 22 June 2013 10:06 PM

MattyB1983 22 June 2013 10:07 PM

I had to message him on ebay explaining that we were all having a jolly good laugh at him.
Hopefully he'll come on and explain how its a 1 off super edition or that is was blue with roof vent but he filled the vent in and sprayed it silver.
