Nitro+ is different!

4 or 5 more MPG consistently now, very impressed.

GordonC 06 June 2013 12:15 PM

Me too - running 28-29mpg average in a WRX PPP - up from 25 (according to the trip).

What model do you have?

Ed-EG 06 June 2013 12:26 PM

Only difference I've noticed is I'm getting pops and bangs when decelerating now.

forgedmarco 06 June 2013 12:58 PM

I got 25 more miles on the last tank very impressed :)

matt-c 06 June 2013 12:58 PM

05 STi, was getting 20-21 now 24-25

huzzy1 06 June 2013 01:00 PM

I'm still getting 20. 😄

Type20Paul 06 June 2013 01:07 PM

Over the last 2 tanks (which were the first 2 using the new fuel) I've had about 20-30 more miles per tank. I just assumed I'd been driving more carefully but maybe there is a difference if others are finding this...Interesting.

matt-c 06 June 2013 01:10 PM

I'm no expert but if there is more MPG and I'm sure there is as i have been recording my MPG for years and this change is unprecedented then the fuel must have higher calorific value?

Could that be converted to power instead of MPG with a remap?

speedking 06 June 2013 01:35 PM

Allegedly more friction reducers rather than higher energy content, so no. I assume everyone is comparing Nitro+ with V-power.

Rbon91 06 June 2013 01:55 PM

Still getting 14 and 6 when I hammer it lol :D

waldmanbrown 06 June 2013 02:05 PM

Would be useful to have a mpg meter in the Scooby.

Not too sure about useful, but it'd definitely be funny to see.

Not for me! I really don't miss knowing how low my figure is like I did in the last car! :lol1::lol1::lol1:

GordonC 06 June 2013 02:26 PM

25 MPG, rush hrs town driving to and from work.MY99 UK Turbo.

Shaun 06 June 2013 05:56 PM

No more power from remapping. I had my car remapped the other week on Nitro and Meth, as opposed to VPower and Meth. Power DID increase, but the boost was increased slightly as well.

If it gave you potential for more of a bang, you would have heard about it by now.

did it allow more boost? or mapper just went for more?

romford-boy 06 June 2013 06:42 PM

I'm definitely getting a better mpg.

The fuel didn't allow more boost, it was just increased as part of the mapping exercise.

Not sure if its improved on mine but got 134 miles to £25 quids worth.

Funny thing is that's better than my vw passat 1.8t only used to get 89miles to £20

bigphilbaby 07 June 2013 11:44 AM

ive noticed huge fuel gain in my skyline and the pops and bangs are now even better than before :) just shame it so more expensive than 99 tesco

MattyB1983 07 June 2013 12:22 PM

Why would it give more 'pops and bangs'. I've seen a few posts on different threads where people have experienced this.
Surely pops and bangs indicate over fueling, if people are getting more mpg then that would indicate the fuel burning better.

Im confused....lol...

It's called the outcome of internet subjective bull****! ;)

wieczor25 07 June 2013 01:13 PM

I think you guys see better mpg due to hot weather ;-)

Fudgey 07 June 2013 02:11 PM

I have also noticed an increase in mpg over the last 2 times i filled up. Gone from 22 to 25 mpg!

But i never made it to shell, that was on esso 97 pmsl.

I dont think ive really been driving any differently either.

So go figure lol
