Which exhaust size is better 2.5 or 3 inch?
 

Hi all :) I am looking at getting a new exhaust system for my 2005 blob sti and wanted to know peoples opinions on these exhaust sizes.

The car is totally standard at the moment but I plan to get a fuel pump, decat and panel filter and map it correctly with future plans to change the turbo and modify it more but I am not sure what size exhaust to get... So all advice welcome and thank you!

Unless you intend to take it to 400bhp and beyond, the 2.5" system will be perfectly adequate.

Repetitive myth time.....

Plenty of us running 400+ on a 2.5"

Quieter, should fit better, often cheaper...

There are actual disadvantages to running 3" at lower power levels...

There's a search button at the top...

3" downpipe and a 2.5" there after .... suits my 440/440 well and sounds the nuts without being track unfriendly.

As said, too big a system for your needs has disadvanteages.

make sure a 2.5" system doesnt have smaller ID reducing it further.
