Prodrive v7 foglights

I've been looking for a set of prodrive foglights to go with my bumper , are the lights plug and play with the stock harness ? Just seeing what all it needs before I get them , anyone selling a complete set , found a set on ebay but the seller won't respond , please let me know if the wiring if plug and play or if you have a complete set thanks , Matt

They aren't fog lights, they are driving lights, in the UK they need wiring into the main beam circuit. Not legal for the UK in that position, but EU law allows them to be so.

P.P.P.S. The covers are available as copies and the Hella lights are also'ont ebuy too !

Mortster 22 May 2013 10:32 PM

I meant brackets for the lights. They are a special shape.

Thank you Very much appreciated

He has responded, and to you.
He estimates shipping to the USA to be £89.

Thank you ill have to sell me seats before I can pick them up man that's a lot for foglights lol

dunx 24 May 2013 10:35 PM

Without sounding picky...

They are high performance driving lamps, two beams are available, drive and pencil beam, the later being a narrower beam pattern with a greater range. The HID version was hugely expensive, hence the price.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hella-H12273001-FF-1000-Driving-Lamp-Round-Clr-Lens-Blk-Hsing-w-Slvr-Accnt-Ri-/360619963286?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53f69ff396&vxp=mtr
Surely better value to source these and fab some brackets ? An aftermarket H1 HID kit will upgrade the output...

Yeah I know it's cheaper to make a set but I'm so picky I'd rather just pay to play , plus you can never beat oem quality parts !!!!!

Dutch Scooby lover 25 May 2013 12:40 PM

I have the Hella FF1000 , which I converted to HID.
They are THE best upgrade one can do for driving in the dark.

dunx 29 May 2013 09:13 PM

The HID version is super rare, mine are "ordinary" Hella 1000FF with add-on H1 HID kits in OEM mouldings. Sadly the price reflects the scarcity of these items.

What do you mean if they were foglights ?

alcazar 11 June 2013 09:47 AM

LOL, re-read your thread, dude: the ones I posted a link to are DRIVING lights, not foglights.

A foglight produces a low, flat beam, which is meant to illuminate the surface and edges of the road in poor driving conditions. They don't do a particularly good job and for normal driving are useless, plus illegal to use EXCEPT in adverse conditions in the UK. Dunno about the USA.....

Driving lights have a very powerful beam, similar to your high beams, (brights?), except they fill in the foreground a bit too, rather like a mix of a dip and a really good high (main) beam.
Used WITH the high beams, they give excellent spread and reach and are brilliant for doing any quick night driving.

You've seen my pics of mine?

Anyone have a oem set of driving lights ?

alcazar 02 March 2015 10:18 AM

The ONLY cars that came with driving lights as original equipment, were the P1...and they used Hella 90mm units in foglight covers with 90mm holes. they were available in halhen or HID...at a price.

ALL other Scoobs have been delivered with foglights.

Ok we'll I'm looking for the set that was a option with the v7 prodrive
Bumper set

alcazar 02 March 2015 12:31 PM

They very occasionally come up on ebay, or you could get hold of some Hella 100ff lights, (which is what they were), and get a decent fabricator to weld up some alloy brackets that bolt to the normal foglight mounting holes, of which, three.

Wiring is fairly simple if you get some.
