So I've had the gauges installed today and I've run into a couple of problems. Firstly the gauges don't Zero - well the Oli pressure an temp one don't when there is no ignition on - the oil pressure just wants to sit at 4 ! The oil pressure is reading high but I'm not sure if its because its not starting at zero. The temp is showing the last read temp. Also on a steady drive the boost needle is flickering- I've attached a vid to show you what I mean !

Check first the wiring to the control unit. It should be as follows:

RED: PERMANENT live.
ORANGE: SWITCHED (from ign) live.
WHITE: LIGHTING live.
Black: EARTH, a good one.

Next check that each gauge sender is plugged into it's correct socket at the control box.

Next check that the daisy chain is from gauge to gauge and then, finally, to the control box, socket "A" if you have Defi Link, and socket "B" if you have defi BF gauges.

Come back to us when you have checked that all is well with the wiring.

I didn't do a permutation live ! Would this make all the difference ? Surly it wouldn't make any difference when the ignition is on and the car running ? What about the boost being like it is ?

If you had them wired correctly you could have recorded the memory playback, not risked "live action" on the road.

P.S. With no ignition on, they should be off !

When mine were delivered, one of them wasn't on zero. The seller told me it would be fine once wired correctly...and it has been.

They need a permanent live to the red. What did you put to the red?

blackpoolrock 26 April 2013 05:56 PM

It's in to have them sorted tomoz but with no ignition on even now they should read zero ! What's going on do you think ? What's with the boost ?

alcazar 26 April 2013 08:19 PM

I think that once they are wired correctly, they will zero. Wait and see.

The boost could be:

Loose connection, poor sender, leaking pipes, or even boost is doing that.

Were these new?

blackpoolrock 26 April 2013 08:23 PM

Not new I got them from a trusted seller on here though - also the Oli ten has been jumping about tonight ! We will see what happens tomorrow !

alcazar 26 April 2013 10:10 PM

Oli ten?

You mean oil temperature?

It's sounding more and more like a wiring problem.

Who fitted them, (please don't say it was "a local garage") and why didn't you do it yourself? There are plenty of guides on here?

blackpoolrock 27 April 2013 11:03 AM

It's in at cams performace right now !

alcazar 28 April 2013 11:32 AM

Let us know the outcome.
