Easyjet

Guys

Do Easyjet accept you showing them your boarding card on a smart phone?
And what about hold bags if you check in on-line

Ant 12 April 2013 02:39 PM

with it being easy jet anychance to rip you off they will so i'd print it.

make sure it's to measurement with your hold bag as the hitlers stand just before the gate normally

urban 12 April 2013 03:02 PM

The hitlers, yeah I noticed they'd become a lot more beady eyed
I assume they get some kind of commissions then?

Ant 12 April 2013 03:04 PM

couldn't say, but they normally have cages where you can check yourself just incase.

urban 12 April 2013 03:25 PM

I know.

However take this scenario.
I travelled from Liverpool recently and was carrying an empty largish holdall.
At boarding this daft bint stops me and says put that in the cage.
So, I fold in in half and place it in the cage.
She then demands that it is placed in unfolded, otherwise I've got to pay.
Well lets just say I made it fit.
But FFS - its an empty hold all.

billythekid 12 April 2013 04:18 PM

Yup. Liverpool are w**kers.

Last time I flew from there the check in girl walks up and down the line, asking if anyone is willing to put their hand luggage in the hold as there is no space on the plane - NO CHARGE. I was quite happy to do it - but my bag had £3ks worth of electronics in it. Not heavy, but valuable and not something I want to get damaged.

So I declined. She carried on asking everyone.

30 seconds later I get to the desk and she says "put your bag in there". It goes in - but the top is sticking out by about 2 inches. Fair enough. So ok, put it in the hold - but let me take my gear out first. FFS....

Take gear out which is in its own case, hand her the bag and she hands me a bill for £40. WHAT?! 30 seconds ago it was free...

Total n-bs.

I almost declined to get on the plane.... it was a business trip and I did not really have a choice. Made a complaint and they gave me free baggage on my next flight but there is no need for that. Needless to say its gone in the memory bank, I fly though there quite a bit...

:cuckoo::cuckoo::cuckoo::cuckoo::cuckoo:

billythekid 12 April 2013 04:22 PM

Sorry, as for the OP. I think you must check in - so go to the check in desk with your passport and they will print you a boarding card. I am pretty sure they will charge you... good luck!!

Easy jet - how can somebody give an airline that name knowing they are full of shìt! I've had an easier time rowing a boat! Sleazy jet more like, (not so) cheap flights and staff that look like they are being forced beyond their own will to be at work that are not friendly or helpful, I can't say all the staff are the same as that would be unfair so 98% of them, And Ryan air is the same, that's just like a cattle market! Gate opens and everybody starts fighting for the seats they want, never again what an absolute shambles! I would rather pay a little extra and be able to stay calm when going away, as I was tamping with half the people smashing their way past my pregnant sister, trouble is its the airlines fault for having such a shìt procedure in place, your suppose to be calm and looking forward to going away, the only bit I was looking forward to was getting off the plane back in the uk knowing I had the same bøllocks on the return flight as well :lol1:

AndyBaker 12 April 2013 05:42 PM

I remember when Ryanair were intending to charge a euro to go for a pi55. I would politely inform them that they are their seats that I'm sat on and I ain't paying a euro :)

Chip 12 April 2013 06:23 PM

I always use Easyjet and have never had a problem, in fact flew back from Malaga with then today. You know the rules, just abide by them, simple really.

dpb 12 April 2013 06:27 PM

How can you book your hold luggage in online, it's rubbish

Impossible, you can do all the prelim on line. Kind of pointless tho really :cuckoo:

Ant 12 April 2013 07:13 PM

Because not a lot of people book in hold luggage on the budget flights

dpb 12 April 2013 07:38 PM

Is that a fact.

I must have been on 15 +Ryan/easyjet flights, my eyes must be decievin me :wonder:

I think you book it in online then just drop it off at the bag drop counter.

dpb 12 April 2013 07:58 PM

How do they know the weight ?

All bit crazy, the planes as fast as the slowest passenger

I guess it's for people who like looking round airport shops

billythekid 12 April 2013 08:56 PM

Last time I was flying on Monarch they had "Fit to Fly" labels on hand luggage. If you did not have one - they made you put the bag on the scales at the gate. A LOT of people were getting caught out.

SwissTony 12 April 2013 09:06 PM

I save my easyjet boarding passes as PDF's into Google Drive and then simply open the PDF's at checkin, show it to the staff and everytime they have
accepted it as they can scan the bar code as well, happy days.

I think the easyjet app also holds that info

legb4rsk 12 April 2013 10:20 PM

Budget airlines seem to demonstrate the worst of customer service.Their attitude is 'it's cheap, what do you expect? If you don't like it ,feck off.'
Good,friendly customer care costs nothing.

Is it just us idiot Brits that put up with it? Does anyone know if it's the same in America.I can't imagine they put up with it whatever the cost.

so do you watch every passenger? or you arguing for arguments sake?

i'll play along i went on 16 flights for the weekend with no hold storage

seriously though it depends on the destination i flown a few times to bremen with ryan air and not a lot of people checked baggage in but went to spain and the queues was huge for checking in bags

scunnered 12 April 2013 10:25 PM

Don't Easyjet need a tear off from the boarding pass to confirm the number of passengers actually getting on board?
I know Ryanair do.
Maybe you can give them half your phone!

dpb 12 April 2013 10:43 PM

Suppose I'm not the complaining type, I look at these people who've just paid less than the price of a good meal to travel several hundred miles, without pedalling, and laugh to myself at their petty gripes

RobsyUK 13 April 2013 09:28 AM

No it has to be physical as it could be anyone card

dpb 13 April 2013 09:33 AM

Anyone's phone?

No.

Ray T 15 April 2013 02:01 PM

Its Like £3 To Book A Seat, Of Course More For Extra Legroom.

Chip 15 April 2013 06:17 PM

Don't book a seat then, I don't.

Ray T 15 April 2013 06:57 PM

Chip, Was Actually Saying It As A Positive In This Case.

alistair 15 April 2013 09:06 PM

I think EasyJet are one of the best short haul airlines. However, you need to understand and abide by the rules otherwise they'll make money out of you - simple as that really.

I fly them loads and love some of the check in arguments - it's part of the entertainment. My personal favourite is one pice of hand baggage - no madam you can't bring that feckin big handbag as well, it has to go inside.

I'm being forced to fly BA at the moment & I think they are a lot worse - you can only check in 24 hours in advance - what a load of sh1te - on EJ i can print out my boarding passes well in advance and just turn up at the airport and head for the plane
