As i need n identical one for the RAID array?

Buy a stopwatch, a piece of chalk and a screwdriver.
Take top off disk, draw a big fat line along one side of the platter. Switch drive on, and count how long (using stopwatch) it takes for the line to go round in circles. Easy. Or get the S/N and ask the manufacturer. |
LOL :D
Open up the machine, read the label and go to the manufacturers website for the information :) |
Or else buy the fastest drive and it should throttle back if the other disks are slower than it. Obviously if you buy a slower disk that the others, the whole array will be throttled back.
(I've only worked with Dell arrays so can't comment for other manufacturers but I should imagine this would hold true for them too.) |
LOL @ Mr D :D
If it's IDE RAID, best to try and run two (or more) identical models in the array. |
What can you get other then IDE RAID?? Im presuming the drives 5.2k rpm i think
|
SCSI RAID, and it's normally 5400rpm. Don't buy another 5400 drive just for the RAID. Total waste of time. Buy a quick 7200 drive.
