dpb 09 February 2013 07:44 PM

It wasn't high on my list. ( in fact iv never heard of it )

But I'm going to buy it anyway just incase you're simply being mischievous :thumb:

GlesgaKiss 09 February 2013 07:44 PM

Which model? How many miles on the clock?

mark1esc 09 February 2013 07:48 PM

focus titanium x nice car but 1.0ltr 125 ecoboost dont do what it says powers good but s**t on fuel

DYK 09 February 2013 07:48 PM

Get a new Dacia instead.

mark1esc 09 February 2013 07:50 PM

1200 miles but spoke to someone whos done 12000 mile and he said his was crap

mark1esc 09 February 2013 07:51 PM

my scooby does more

Boro 09 February 2013 08:00 PM

Reviews don't look good on the economy front.

dpb 09 February 2013 08:01 PM

That focus, in general, I reckon is one of nicest looking cars iv seen for quite a while

No idea how it runs

bustaMOVEs 09 February 2013 08:01 PM

Well it is a turbo petrol and a 1 ltr petrol turbo squeezing 125hp of of it gonna be stretching the engine and fuel economy, not hard to work out

mark1esc 09 February 2013 08:06 PM

125 hp out of a 1.0ltr is pritty s**t hot and the engine is as big as a sheet of A4 paper but drinks fuel like a V8

mark1esc 09 February 2013 08:08 PM

thats the point it aint eco

dpb 09 February 2013 08:13 PM

I've never gotten 28 mpg out of a V8

SRSport 09 February 2013 09:14 PM

My inlaws have a 2 month old Ecoboost B max. Compared to the 1.8 C max they had before they report better economy (far better than 28mpg) and they do a lot of stop start town driving. They say it is more powerful as well although I think that it is mainly due to the improved torque.

Could yours be faulty?

Boro 09 February 2013 10:36 PM

There are loads of reports of poor fuel economy, so doubt it's a one off.

ReallyReallyGoodMeat 09 February 2013 10:51 PM

Perhaps it's a driving style thing? As in, the harder you drive it, the exponentially worse economy you get - a bit like how driving a normal road car hard is less economical than driving a supercar around at the same speed.

Leslie 10 February 2013 01:58 PM

The turbo diesel Mini which I have does 45 mpg on short shopping runs and about 55-60 or so on a run, has good acceleration and is very nice to drive too.

should have gone for the 1.6 tdci.
40 odds round town and 50 odd on the motorway.
only done couple of hundred mile in ours but seems ok.
not the most powerful thing (in fact it wouldnt pull your f0resk1n back) but £20 quid road tax makes me smile.

Mini's a girls car and Leslie's a girls name!
Sorry mate - just couldn't resist.:p

alcazar 11 February 2013 08:52 PM

New Mondeo to have a ONE litre engine......just seen it today.

This is becoming silly.

theboy 11 February 2013 09:18 PM

I could get more out of my tuned Focus ST

SRSport 11 February 2013 09:18 PM

That does seem silly. I would be willing to bet that a 1.6 Turbo would be more economical and far more usable on a car that size.

BOB.T 12 February 2013 12:20 AM

My Focus 1.6 Turbo does mid 30s all day long and I drive it like a knob! :D

gpssti4 12 February 2013 08:03 AM

I've just returned an Audi A1 loan car. I had it three weeks and it averaged 53.4mpg. It was the 2.0 140bhp TDI, it went like stink and I could get over 60mpg on an A road run doing 50-60mph. The best I saw was around 64mpg.

Gear Head 12 February 2013 08:25 AM

I always wondered how they actually achieved the quoted mpg figures for the 1.0 eco boost focus. It just didn't stack up. A 1.3 tonne car powered by a tiny engine is never going to result in great fuel economy. :wonder:

dpb 12 February 2013 08:28 AM

All i know is if you're doing short journeys don't get a 2l diesel.

mark1esc 12 February 2013 07:12 PM

but i had a 2ltr tdi and was getting 55 +

A few guys at work have 2.0l dervs, Focuses, Golfs etc. and don't have long journeys to work. What's up with short journeys?
