how true is this

At first I thought this was funny....Then I realized the awful truth of it. Be sure to read all the way to the end!

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he's fed.

Tax his work,
Tax his pay,
He works for peanuts
Anyway!

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass.

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers;
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.

Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he's laid.

When he's gone,
Do not relax,
It's time to apply
The inheritance tax.

Accounts Receivable Tax
Airline surcharge tax
Airline Fuel Tax
Airport Maintenance Tax
Building Permit Tax

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, & our nation was one of the most prosperous in the world... We had absolutely no national debt, had a large middle class,a huge manufacturing base, and Mum stayed home to raise the kids.

What in the Hell happened? Could it be the lying parasitic politicians wasting our money?
Oh, and don't forget the relatively new bank charges....
And we all know what we think of Bankers.

ditchmyster 22 January 2013 07:34 AM

thats the welfare state, it's well fair if you do nowt for a living.:thumb:

Shaggy1991 22 January 2013 07:41 AM

Why do you think some MP's want to make certain illegal drugs legal? It's not to give the people a break, It's because they want to tax you on something else as well!

But the best thing to do is deal with it... We are just a number.

Well yea there's some technological progress, but we still haven't gone further than the moon (ok that was 40-50yrs ago but still), we still travel in trains, still listen to radio etc. etc.

chocolate_o_brian 22 January 2013 11:10 AM

You are right about technological progress. But sadly this thread is nothing to do with that.

Society has changed tenfold over the last 20 years, let alone the last 100. Which is why I asked if one was really comparing things to 100 years ago, as its completely different now.

For example, the OP complains that there is airline tax nowadays... well yes... there weren't any airlines 100 years (well ok first one was in 1909 I think?) ago. Whether its right or wrong is a different conversation, but the OP is flawed.

Things have changed massively in the last 100 years ;)

There's always couple of ways of looking of things. And this could be a very long and tense conversation anyway.

Subarus are the best! :)

If I would live 100 years ago I would have a horse named Impreza and I would make it burble as it goes along :D

kevo10 22 January 2013 02:18 PM

Though things have changed in the last 100 years , it doesnt necessarily follow that theyve changed for the better

legb4rsk 22 January 2013 02:39 PM

The best thing about 100 years ago is that you didn't have to worry about people posting in the wrong section.

Beemer_Deano 22 January 2013 03:21 PM

Awww shucks, I musta plumb forgot to pay my Medicare tax, recreational vehicle tax and workers comp. Yeeehaaawww! *fires pistols into the air*

ditchmyster 22 January 2013 06:22 PM

madscoob 22 January 2013 06:23 PM
