Mr Sti was a tidy chap and quite surprised when we asked him for a photo.

What else do we have if your raising the bar :norty:

Considering I had not sat of a bike for just over 20 years it was a bit of a body shock at first but now it's the best thing I've done in the long time :thumb:
Weather permitting we are out once or twice every week :)

Hunter gathering mode at the moment and I've just pick these chaps up :D

I need to get the rears in preparation now they are all lined up, then get the PCD re drilled for the classic fitment..... This time around I'm thinking of getting the discs grooved a touch for show. I had planned to paint them red but the black does look sweet

frayz 10 January 2013 10:07 PM

Leave em black Si. Subtle and classy :D

I may just do that Frayz plus the rears to match, it's been suggested that I paint the disc centres silver as well to keep a clean look to it.

trails 10 January 2013 11:02 PM

I went and had a little play at the skatepark tonight Si...three months since I've ridden so it was scary :D

Keep them black, Frayz is right, less is more ;)

mickywrx 11 January 2013 08:21 PM

They look like the Brembo's I sold a while back, black is much more subtle. :thumb:

KJD Mk1 12 January 2013 09:38 AM

What's the plan decal wise bud, are you keeping the Sti logos or will you be sourcing some Brembo ones?

Yes I think for now the black is staying it should look good on a white car.

One of the guys on the RA forum posted a link to some Brembo decals which are design to be lacquered over so I have sent away for them as I had them in mind for the initial red idea... I have to get the paint for the rears anyway and I'm just thinking maybe I could loose the Sti logo and drop the Brembo decal on the fronts as well to just to be a little different.

Very nice Si

I'm going to order some paint shortly when I have an idea of my needs, one being etch primer and some zinc coat maybe.

I've sorted the exhaust out today I'm pleased to say and will have a HKS Silent HiPower here ready to polish for when its time to fit, best exhaust ever made I feel :D that will be here next week and pictures to follow.

Another early planning step will be wheels.. I'm sticking with 17"s that's a fact on this one but first I need to find what fits over the brakes and then see what's available at what cost. I know what I like but that does not mean it likes my wallet :lol1: so any ideas and pictures for wheels fire away I'm open to opinions.

038/200 12 January 2013 06:50 PM

Do the centre of the discs black like the calipers,😎look good.

Silver Scooby Sport 15 January 2013 07:28 PM

Disc centres are going to be silver this time, I did black on my last conversion and I think silver will add a clean look to it.

Small parts update, exhaust arrived today from Ade :thumb: to me this is the best off the shelf exhaust available its volume look and quality tick all of my boxes

Here's a few before I start to work on it ;)

Also found the old mock up bracket we made around 5 years ago for mounting the rear Brembo calipers.... This was taken from a design discussed on this forum a long while back and put into practice.

Sorry not the best quality pictures tonight but you get the idea, it's a one piece construction which will mount the Calipers in the correct place for the OEM size rear Brembo discs to be fitted along with enlarged handbrake shoes. I have some pictures of my old set up if anyone wants to have a closer look at the finished job now.

Does anyone have the correct colour code for the Cerise colour that the Sti suspension is painted in and is there somewhere that can supply it in a rattle can as I'm considering the options for refreshing the suspension.

frayz 15 January 2013 08:53 PM

Powdercoating would be best I think mate.

I agree there :lol1: it all adds up I'm just looking at the options first.

frayz 15 January 2013 09:04 PM

Wouldn't cost much to do though mate if you do all in one go. :)

That maybe the route to go, I need to get it all off and see what I have altogether I think.

Can get it mixed & supplied in rattle cans for about £10 each or £15 for two Si :thumb:

KJD Mk1 15 January 2013 10:30 PM

I've been working on the Landy tonight and my brother has a paint supplier that will mix us a small quantity and he can then paint anything we want.
As he is not a Subaru man he did question the whole "pink" thing.

:D
