Slow with the updates but here are a few more pics.
Found the suspension units weren't as good as I thought so I've bypassed refurbing them and opted to put them on to get the car rolling ready for MSA competition log booking ... I'll deal with them after and replace with Proflex 3-way. Not a lot to look at but a lot of bushes on engine/gearbox and diff replaced with Powerflex Black Series bushes and the metal work powder coated. Offside front running gear and doors http://i41.tinypic.com/2cdhkwy.jpg Engine cleaned up and installed along with box http://i40.tinypic.com/34oogeu.jpg Nearside front running gear and doors http://i42.tinypic.com/2eupg78.jpg Looking more like a car again now! http://i41.tinypic.com/11kwhed.jpg http://i39.tinypic.com/mqce8.jpg Rear diff cradle. Missed the bent mounting before powder coating :( It will do until I source tubular subframes next year. http://i43.tinypic.com/r86rfd.jpg The marks on the chassis are where the dolly was running loose during painting. http://i39.tinypic.com/24fio0z.jpg Concentrate on rear end next and getting the rest of the panels back on. Thanks for looking. Nige |

I'm so slow with updates but there's been a lot of work done, a lot of it minor stuff just a fair bit. A 3 month break for personal reasons has also hindered its completeness but back on track now:
Pillow ball rear end for a bit of adjustment and strength. Attachment 57299 In-boot fuel setup with fuel cell. Attachment 57300 Low pressure and high pressure pumps, Swirl pot. Another Walbro pump to add here ... you pay a hefty price when a pump fails! Pipe work needs a bit of fettling when the second pump and firewall is installed but its good enough to run for now. Attachment 57301 A basic instrument and switch console. Currently getting flocked to match the rest of the dash. Attachment 57302 Most of front end on. Morrettes are in poor condition (always view what you buy) so they need replacing. Attachment 57303 So, hoping to get dash back this weekend, get the fuel system wired up and then start her up. Very nice build.

Some nice bits, I could do with some stout mounts for my rear ARB. Are those arms pillow ball though, the look like poly bushed ones in the pic:wonder:

I looked at making my own but after the cost of decent rosejoints it was near the price of these. I'll see how they fair with competition use. Nige |
A quick update. Got the engine started last weekend which had a bit of uncertainty due to the amount of wires stripped out of the loom. Fired up on the first crank and after 15 months unused :)
Couple of a small leaks on the low pressure fuel pumps ... I expected the high pressure to leak to be honest. The fully flogged dash is now installed with switches and gauges, new pics coming soon. This week's task is to put the carbon fibre rear firewall and parcel shelf in and to tidy up the under dash wiring. Nige |
Looking really good there chap. Some nice work so keep the updates going.

A couple more pics and a video of first start-up after rebuild. I think I've jumped the gun with the FMIC but it came at a good price and I was able to remove that terrible bumper/fog mount ... which saved a hell of a lot more weight :thumb:
Flocked Centre Console, the square bit will hold the extinguisher control panel so did not get flocked. Attachment 57304 Front Mount Attachment 57305 First Startup https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=098e...ature=youtu.be Thanks for looking. Nige |
Awesome! Liking the custom centre console! V nice!

Are you running two low pressure pumps to the swirl pot? |

Are you running two low pressure pumps to the swirl pot? I have two low pressure pumps fitted but intend on running only one at a time, the second is a backup in the event of failure. Likewise with the dual high pressure setup. The low pressure pumps are Facet Red Tops delivering 159 litres per hour to a 1.5 litre swirl pot under little pressure. The high pressure pumps are Wallbro/Sytec delivering 239 litres per hour. My reckoning is that with fitting the intended 550cc injectors they will consume a maximum of 132 litres in one hour. Therefor, I am expecting more than sufficient positive fuel return back into the swirl pot keeping it topped up. I think I have my maths right :wonder: and just one LP pump running is enough, but welcome any comments. Nige |
Yeh from my research one Facet Red Top is fine, just that I've been working on my fuel system today so seeing yours I thought I'd just see if you were running two at the same time in case i'd missed something,
looks like you have it covered well... |
Very nice mate
