Anyone?

Henrik 26 November 2012 01:48 PM

Twin scroll will spool a bit sooner than a single scroll, i.e. for a given size turbo, the twin scroll will have a wider power band over a single scroll.

scoobyrob2002 26 November 2012 02:37 PM

yeah henrik i know they spool sooner thats why i am thinking of getting my bug converted :)

Hi there

As above Twin scroll will/can spool sooner/quicker than single scroll

Depends what twin scroll you are looking to get.

You will lose the burble & power delivery feels a bit more linear

scoobyrob2002 26 November 2012 08:50 PM

yeah kas35rsti thats the down side of the twin scroll :( its just for the convertion + turbo i am looking about £2,500 yet for half that money i could buy i bigger turbo like the MDX321T billet

Henrik 26 November 2012 10:52 PM

Holy crap, there has really been some inflation in turbo prices over the last couple of years, eh?

I had the older MD321T on my S202 JDM Bugeye, nice turbo. You can pickup TS conversion for £1200-£1500. Japperformance parts do good deals & also accept px.

MDX321T is a nice turbo, spools very early on a 2.0l with avcs plus sounds great.

We're run MDX321T and must admit great turbo and spool has been awesome,on yours spool will be better just due your heads are better than our has been on our wagon

About the prices, you can find sometimes good deals, but still don't know if this will worth in the end

How much cost new or used SC42 or SC46,LM420 or LM460,MDX321T Twin scroll ? I don't think you can buy those turbo under £1000

Conversion kit for twin scroll somewhere in region £600-£1000 without the turbo and you have this price

Both turbo will be good choice,as I said on your other thread Blouch and ScoobyClinc developed together XTR range(difference is in the exhaust housing,SC using usually smaller 7CM exhaust housing and Blouch using bigger 8CM/10CM exhaust housing)

I never drove and never tried SC42 on 2.0L STi and I can't comment on that

AVCS is something like on the Honda VTEC or Toyota VVT-i,usually helping to spool turbo

Here is good FAQ about the AVCS
