2005 STI 2.0 Litre

Hi guys.

Im a newbie and keen to see what the difference is between the type UK 2005 sti (2.0 litre) that i'm looking at and a normal sti?

Also what bhp is the type uk. Ive read somewhere that it's 265 and somewhere else said 300 so really not sure.

Please remember this is the 2.0 litre that i'm looking to buy not the 2.5 that I believe came out that year.

Thanks guys.

MY05 STi Type UK is 265ps as standard. PPP upped the performance to 295ps, I think!

DCCD as well!

Trippie 11 November 2012 06:35 PM

as above and has wide track.

265ps (262bhp) or with the ppp it was 305ps (301bhp).

Tony:)

On that subject, can someone let me know the cost then to take my type UK (iF I end up buying it) to 305ps (or 301 bhp). Thanks for the info Above. Hate to sound like a dumb ass but new to this. Thanks

A ECUTek remap will see you 300bhp, which will cost £500 (includes software licence)
You could also change the OE panel air filter & get change out the restrictive centre resonated exhaust section!

Robbowrxsti 11 November 2012 09:04 PM

Thanks for that. I'm in York. Where would I take it for ECUTek remap and will it effect reliability

Also, the STI that I am going to buy (next week) has 58,000 miles but i'm not sure if the belts have been done. What are the intervals for this and if unsure if belts have been done, If i ask an experienced mechanic to check, will they be able to tell me by an inspection?

I doubt they will be able to tell too much from an inspection and if there going to go that far they may as well just renew them. If in doubt get the belt and tensioners changed.
Ecutek remap will not effect reliability if mapped by a competent mapper. It should improve the car.

Dan- 11 November 2012 11:11 PM

i can tell you the belt interval is 50k miles

Robbowrxsti 12 November 2012 05:16 PM

Thanks Dan i thought so. Sounds like I may just have to get them changed anyway to be safe along with tensioners. Thanks for your help people appreciate it

Are you pleased with your 2005 sti Dan? I see you have ppp. Did you have that done or was it like that when bought. Jjust interested to know if the difference is massively noticable

LSherratt 12 November 2012 05:27 PM

Ive read somewhere that you're better off buying stage1 mods and getting it remapped by a reputable mapper to take it to 300bhp, instead than getting one with PPP.
