Anyone noticed how much their bonnet moves whilst driving, or is it just mine ?? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

p.s. keep your eyes on the road whilst checking http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

It's that damn scoop drawing air into the engine bay! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Yeah, I've noticed - especially on track days http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Its my pseudo speed limiter.
At 120 mph I back off as it looks sooooo hairy (on a Forester stb).
I might as well have kept the Jap rev limiter on at 112 mph.

Yeah - its a problem on the imports with Ali bonnets - mine moves up at least an inch or so in head winds at high speed - you sometimes have to slow down to avoid the inevitable!

My old 98 UK spec used to do that. New model seems much better... another improvement http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Very disconcerting at high speed in a 22B

as per the Catalunya Trip !!

glad u put in this post - out for a burl over Easter weekend I definitely thought the bonnet was lifting at speed - a good inch or so.

I reassured myself that as the bonnet is only made of fibreglass it was just flexing in the wind .......

WALKER 18 April 2001 06:53 AM

Yep, mine flaps around like and old flappy bonnet type thingy http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif

Especialy noticable on pictures of myself at Donno, where there is a noticable lift on the one side of the bonnet, at least 1" http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif

Mine seems solid, but Tom's P1 bonnet did appear to move quite a bit.
