I sometimes get relay type noises especially at light throttle applications... has happened on all three of by Bugs. Never really considered it an issue :)

Boost solenoid? Mines the same, it's quite annoying actually.

Could be, I guess... the BCS is bolted to the suspension turret on that side so the noise could be finding it's way along through the bulkhead etc. I'd always thought it was a relay under the dash.

I get that on my bug as well and as matt said its quite annoying. Just a second question on this subject could the problem be solved by fitting a three port boost solenoid?

matt077 09 August 2012 11:08 AM

my idle control solenoid does it from time to time, not a clue why!

Not sure but I'd guess not as a 3 port is still a solenoid at the end of the day
