Wagon Coilovers
 

Hi im new to the forum :)

Im looking into buying a impreza wrx wagon somwhere between the ages of 02-05.

just wondering if the coilovers for the saloons fit the wagons? what coilovers people recommend? and any other information that might be useful.

They technically "fit", as in they will bolt up without issue. but the front end track and the lower clevis shape of the wagon strut is different from the saloon. I think AST is the only coilover that uses a lower clevis that matches the original lower clevis wagon hole position. All other coilovers are saloon specific. What this means is that you will not be able to get as much negative camber using a saloon strut on a wagon. Without messing with camber plates, the most you can get will be about -.8 deg camber in the front. Which isn't much. However, if you are using camber plates then for most situations you'll be able to get enough camber using the camber plates in conjunction with the OEM camber bolts.

Arnie we are running like camber bots,those camber bolts us allowed run more front camber(now -2.0,we are tried -2.5 too and still is there lots of where can be pushed),before we are run at front only -1.46 without the camber bolts

But this is on the 245/40 ZR18 or R888 255/45 ZR17

Hi there thanks price for coilovers all depends what sort of coilovers you are want,BC BR cost around £680-£740 plus fitting and alignment and you should be paying around all in £1100

I would recommend like Whiteline Roll centre kit or Hardrace roll centre kit,this we are done and transform our car...

ARB's and droplinks would recommend too

As I said all depends on your budget

Hi,

Is this the case on the newage 2006 WRX wagon too? I am planning to have the BC coilovers fitted and my geometry sorted. In the hope that this reduces the rolling the car suffers through the corners.

I do not know what to ask for with regards to geometry settings, so am guessing the standard ones will be OK???

Do you know if the standard settings can be achieved if the coilover is limited to "-.8 deg camber"? or if I need to buy camber plates for BC Coilover?

The car is used daily for normal and fast road driving.

I'd be very grateful for any advice.

We are have fitted HSD HR coilovers which are saloon specific and our maximum front camber has been -1.18 and rear -2.29,this has been without the front camber bolts,now with camber bolts we are have front -2.00 and at rear -1.50,this setup is good compromise for us like for track or drag plus for fast road driving,we are running 9JX17" ET28 and 255/40 R17 Toyo R888 for track or drag

We can redial our camber more,but current alignment setup is for us still more than perfect like on the road or track/drag

Thanks for the info, Now I am intrigued! Do you have the rest of you geo settings you could share that I could show to the garage? Do you happen to know if this differs much from the standard 2006 WRX settings?

Great, thank you for all of that detail Jura. Our geo will probably be done by SMD in Newhaven. I will share the information you've provided. Our tyres are standard size Continental Sport Contact 5 new all round - if I recall correctly 215/45/17.

You will see how you get on,we are went through 3 alignment setups and this last one is probably best,for more track days,i would suspect we would need more camber all around,but for drag will be this setup not good

All depends for what car will be,if for fast road driving and some track days would say all around -2.00 will be good start
