Do you have a graph? When do you hit full boost in 4th gear?

craigyp 08 July 2012 01:03 PM

craigyp 08 July 2012 01:12 PM

Sent ;-)

banny sti 08 July 2012 01:30 PM

craigyp 08 July 2012 01:41 PM

craigyp 08 July 2012 01:42 PM

Defo not there is a dip in power, at 4.5k the turbo should be pulling hard

This is my old car similar spec to yours but with a gt spec manifold and power fc ecu

Terminator X 08 July 2012 01:48 PM

I owned a similar car fella, yours is less laggy as mine spooled up between 4-5k, still went like a monster though.

TX.

Edit - old thread with my graphs attached:

craigyp 08 July 2012 01:49 PM

What could it be then

craigyp 08 July 2012 01:50 PM

Shall I get the turbo serviced and billeted ???

Terminator X 08 July 2012 01:53 PM

Post up the full spec fella.

TX.

barnshaw 08 July 2012 01:53 PM

i think you need to speak to your mapper as they should be able to spot or identify this, suprised they didnt mention anything about it at the time?

id suggest getting that looked at first before changing turbo etc

+1 :thumb:

alcazar 08 July 2012 01:55 PM

Me too.

Did you tell harvey what turbo etc when you bought the up-pipe/headers?

craigyp 08 July 2012 02:07 PM

Yeah told him mate,,,
321t
Fmic
650 injectors
290
Fuel pump
Ks tech mega maf induction
Full 3" exhaust from turbo.
.gt spec headers Harvey smith uppipe all wrapped
Think that's it

trevsjwood 08 July 2012 02:11 PM

my Graphs have that spike, albeit at 3500rpm,321H/2.5, this at RCM on both maps Vpower and 20%meth, I'm certainly not worrying about it as it's not a boost spike.
Trev

barnshaw 08 July 2012 02:40 PM

its not a boost spike but something up, maybe plugs or something to do with fuelling etc? i would imagine you can notice it in the car when accelerating though as a hesitation or pulling back?

craigyp 08 July 2012 02:51 PM

Not really just laggy

Wmscooby 08 July 2012 02:55 PM

I've got a billet md321s to fit should be fun!!

craigyp 08 July 2012 03:04 PM

So I need mine checking out then?

Devious 08 July 2012 03:21 PM

Sure one of the big name genius mappers will be able to give an opinion.

But it will always have lag. as the T was designed to run with a 2.2 or 2.35 etc not 2 litre engine

craigyp 08 July 2012 03:42 PM

So if I get it billeted it will be better? But surely that doesn't explain that spike ??

MartynJ 08 July 2012 03:49 PM

The newer DD software seems to do that a lot, seen it on Evos too.
It makes it look like there's a problem, where there actually isn't.

craigyp 08 July 2012 04:03 PM

So it's prob nothing? I'm questioning the mappers skills as he's very respectable and I trust him with my car. But like I say just want help making it spool up faster etc

craigyp 08 July 2012 04:07 PM

Not questioning it should say ^^^^^ :-)

JohnD 08 July 2012 04:13 PM

First thought was a big crack of det making the ECU pull timing/boost but it does look a bit extreme for that?

JohnD

PS You get exactly the same curve on a tensile test on low/med. carbon steel!
