cheaper scooby v supra

Easy question what's cheaper to run same year cars

94 wrx import manual
94 non turbo supra auto

Vpower in wrx unleaded in supra??

ScoobySteve69 18 June 2012 03:51 PM

You mean regarding fuel consumption or overall running costs...servicing etc.?

JAPOLLY 18 June 2012 03:55 PM

Sorry yes fuel

MattyB1983 18 June 2012 04:00 PM

Pretty similar I would say.

AUTO NA Supra's are awful! Manual are a little better if you get the one with the LSD and like abit of sideways action otherwise the scooby all the way I have had both.

Now a BPU twin turbo supra is a different story and my old one was cheaper to run than my current JDM Blob STi

cjquicksilver 18 June 2012 06:17 PM

forget the auto supra, if your going to get one, get the manual sz-r as you get the LSD diff then,
fuel wise the supra will be a dam sight more thirsty, mine drank like camel in a evian factory,
BUT

the supra looks mint (IMO)and stick a hks supperdrager system on,and the noise is purrrrrdy! plus dare i say the engine wil be more reliable, but less tunable

on a plus the 2jz gtt engine can drop right in, same loom just was ecu and ye ha!

hope that helps!

u guys had a twin turbo 1 what they like ? are they quick

cjquicksilver 18 June 2012 06:27 PM

only the NA for me, the TT just done seem to drop in value at all, when they do i will buy another lol i loved my supra its been on ebay ever since with less milage then wen i sold it with and a lot more damage,
was quite chav looking back but i liked it as i was only 18 lol

oh i miss the sound of that engine!
dont laugh at the wheels, yes they were chrome, and yes they are now gay, but back in the day..... well i supose they were still quite gay back then lol but i liked them!

I sold my wrx 95 last week was ****e just cost a fortune,I've had a n/a supra before,I do 15 mile a day wil it cost me a fortune to run

cjquicksilver 18 June 2012 07:01 PM

no not really, but there very dependant on how hard ur right foot is, and you generaly have to use the revs to get the power,

you will most definatly see a difference in power, on paper the bhp is not that different, but in reality the NA is a bit of a slouch

sonic93 18 June 2012 07:01 PM

blow a n.a one i want tt wingle turbo conversion lol

jay vr6 18 June 2012 07:03 PM

I miss my supra :( It started out as the 3litre non turbo with lsd and uk brake setup, I found it pretty fair on petrol to be honest, but then it was 4 years ago and petrol was cheaper, best thing I did was jam a 1jz engine into it with a few tweaks :)
I should imiagine these days a non turbo supra will be as expensive to run as a wrx.

Surely both should be run on v power being imports. Also from memory my old na manual used to drink, its a big lump in a big car. Compared to the impreza I would imagine they wouldn't be far off but I can't remember what I used to get from my supra as its never bothered me as if I like or want a car its one of the things you have to take on the chin.

JAPOLLY 18 June 2012 09:10 PM

I no scoobys r ran on vpower just wondered if supras can run on 95 unleaded

Badger_88 18 June 2012 09:17 PM

My mate has a supra twinturbo that's been converted to a single t78 turbo full GReedy conversion with supporting mods running 600bhp and it's a huge grin factor machine!
Doesn't keep up with the scooby through the twisties though
