Roll cage in a Classic

Has anyone got any pics of their installed bolt in cages - specifically look at the front mounting plates that need to be welded when fitting an Omp 6-point Bolt-in, and of the dash modification that has to be done.....any pics of how much of the dash needs to be modded to clear the front legs etc - do I need to loose airvents?

Also do the 3 metal (brake) lines need to be re-routed or would they be able to be re-fitted with Cage in situ....?? :wonder: (see by 'A' pillar below)

Cheers!

Thanks-Exactly what im looking for....! Looks like a really tidy job you've done there... Did you use the same pipes or did you end up making your own?

I don't really know much about installing roll cages, but my shell had some omp supports welded in when i got it.

Here's a couple of pics that may help out.

Those plates would fail scrutineering mate they need to be solid with no gaps if you get me as if the worst should happen those plates could collapse

Is this an OMP Cage (http://www.balancemotorsport.co.uk/p...cnumber=101415) - have you added the extra gusset to the 'B' pillar or was this std?

They certainly don't look up to the job do they?

All MSA regs concerning roll cage's are here.

Yeh they were a bit shocking, needless to say the first thing I did on my project was to have them removed. I just thought the locations of them may help the op out.

Thanks a lot.
Luke.

Added the b pillar points and the rear harness bar, plus a central bar to the roof

cjquicksilver 14 June 2012 03:07 PM

Also the diagonal and door bars are missing in the pix
