Idle Low on Ecutek Remap

My 05 STI has a idle of around 650rpm...

Is this normal?

Whats the easiest, cheapest way to resolve this?

Seems about right to me

Politely ask your mapper to turn it up a little if it's not what you want ...

Simples... no meerkat included.

sounds a touch too low, I wouldn't have thought the mapper would alter the idle.........

Sure its not just a dirty idle control valve? I suppose that would make the idle fluctuate rather than sit low?

When the ECU is re set the idle goes back to a base setting. It just needs a tweak which can be done by any mapper with Deltadash or any Subaru dealer.
A dirty idle valve more often than not results in a high idle speed.

How are you measuring the idle speed? The line just above the 500rpm on the stock rev counter is where it should sit. this appears to be around 650 but is infact higher than that if checked on a laptop. providing its a nice steady idle and it doesnt cut out then dont worry.
