Hi Tom,

Are you no longer running PF pads?

As above, I think Alyn has nailed you're initial question.

tjmatt 16 May 2012 02:11 PM

Can you post back what you think of the Pagid standard pads if you try them. Look cheap at £23 delivered.

I've got them all round mate, and TBH can't really fault them:thumb:

If i was to be a bit picky then i would complain about the amount of dust they create, but apart from that i can honestly say i have not really had any issues,
Sorry not strictly true, they where squeeling like hell a couple of weeks back, but that wasn't the pads fault it was the fact that i was missing the thin shims that should have been there.

Put the shims in, and hey presto no problems:thumb:

By the way, their on a 99 turbo 2000, slightly modded, but not running major power levels like some, and i do drive like a tw@:norty:

Possible not likely standard Pagid pads in that case. OEM Pagids will fall off a lot quicker than PF's after a few hard stops.

DT-SPD 16 May 2012 03:59 PM

Can someone post a link to these cheap Pagid pads, I can't seem to find them. cheers.

Aztec Performance Ltd 16 May 2012 04:14 PM

Ebay: Impreza Pagid

bustaMOVEs 16 May 2012 04:25 PM

How much are the pagid performance ones, fast road and track use?

Aztec Performance Ltd 16 May 2012 04:26 PM

For which caliper? They aren't cheap though! ;)

bustaMOVEs 16 May 2012 04:28 PM

Wrx 4 pots

bustaMOVEs 16 May 2012 04:29 PM

And pfs?

KAS35RSTI 16 May 2012 04:32 PM

I used OEM Pagid on my 440hp S202 & they performed amazingly good. Only cost £50 for a full set, front + back.

Better than some of these expensive pads!

Forgot to add that they took some abuse aswell!

Aztec Performance Ltd 16 May 2012 04:35 PM

About £205 for the front RS-15.

EBC Orangestuff are £148

marcevs72 16 May 2012 04:59 PM

run standard pagids in my classic and lots of dust and dont last long but good performance.

DT-SPD 12 July 2012 06:54 PM

Just ordered a complete set of std spec Pagids for £47 from Eurocarparts , they are doing a 31% off deal at the moment.

At that price they are worth a try, just dont drive hard enough to keep my current PF Z rated pads hot.

zippy! 12 July 2012 07:27 PM

i fitted these to my friends standard 03 wrx they do the job just fine but would go for something a little better if running a tuned impreza

Aztec Performance Ltd 13 July 2012 12:52 PM

Standard pads are just that, standard.

Eurocarparts own the Pagid licensing right afaik. The only thing Pagid about them would be the name on the box. ;)

Not to be confused with the Pagid performance range or any other performance pad for that matter. Less than an extra £50 buys you a set of kevlar fast road pads.

I switched to standard ecp pagid pads and discs just before last winter. I sprint my car and ran pf stuff last year and did suffer with some fade with them.

So i bought some cheap pagid stuff. Discs and pads all round was around £120. The aim was just to use them for road use over the winter and the upgrade for the new sprint season. Over the winter i used them pretty hard and was so impressed decided to give the a go for sprinting. Its now halfway through the season. There about half worn which is good, more importantly the stopping power is imense and i havent had any fade at all nor have i been able to over heat them. All on standard brembo calipers

Same here. Some of expensive pads dont even perform that way

stockcar 13 July 2012 08:34 PM

to be able to "fade" a PF pad means either you didn't bed them properly or you had some other fault/problem which was the cause of your "fade"...........

pads alone are not the only cause/solution to brake fade........

alyn

** just to add the std OEM Pagid pads are very good for their cost and IMO far better than a lot of these entry level so-called 'fast road' pads

agree totally although in my case was a simple disc and pad change. Calipers and fluid and pipes etc all remained the same.

The pf pads were getting so hot they were obviously boiling the dot4 fluid. In fact to the point after some runs the front pads/discs were smoking. It could have course been a sticky piston that became unstuck once it was pushed back into the caliper.

DT-SPD 22 July 2012 08:21 AM

Just as an update, std Pagid pads got delivered but the Eurocarparts catalogue and the Mintex/Pagid catalogue their system is based on all list the wrong rear pads for Brembo caliper. The correct rear pad is Pagid T1209 which is listed for a Teves caliper in the catalogues. Had interesting time at the Eurocarparts store, the parts guy insisted the catalogue can not be wrong :cuckoo:

Hoping to fit them in the next few weeks and will give some feedback.

Turbotits 22 July 2012 09:39 PM

Did you find the rear pads 3 or 4mm to wide?

rob84 23 July 2012 08:14 PM

Gotta admit I run them in my hatch & to be honest they are pretty bloody good, Very dusty is the only downside to them other than that far better than the OEM brembo pads I was running they used to fade for fun

bustaMOVEs 23 July 2012 08:24 PM

Anyone got a link for Oem pagid for front brembo calipers?
I'm starting to learn that all this nonsense for fast road pads are better when there clearly not. And being proven so by comparing.

mickywrx 23 July 2012 08:43 PM

When I first bought my car, I got a set of Pagid pads from Alyn and they were fantastic in the OEM 2 pots. :D

IIRC Pagid discontinued them for the 2 pots and I never had as good braking with any of the replacement pads, and I refused to pay £100+ for a set of pads.

Currently running Hawkeye WRX 4 pots, and 2 pot rears with Pagid disks and pads on the front and once again I think they are damn good, especially when considering the low cost.
