You don't need to roll the arches buddy, you need to hack them to bits...

Im looking into some widey archs coz mine are rusting so I thought I'd cut the crap away and put some new arches on,
I've got a 4dr classic any tips would be good

Spivscooby 29 November 2012 05:49 PM

Am also looking in to this so far the most pricey part is going to be buying the wider alloys

johnnybon 30 November 2012 08:53 AM

Personally I would book it in and let them fit them as they do them all the time and do a great job and for the extra cash worth every penny :thumb:

have a look at these, ive just fitted them to my type r, they are far better than the ABW arches and a lot cheaper, they could also be modified to fit a 4 door.

Love that colour
Very cool

A few tips

When you cut the arches you need to be carefull of the loom as it runs inside the top of the front wing.

Also keep about a third of the front arch liner to one side and fix it back in - as that stops water coming into the front footwells.

The arch that fits on the rear when the fuel filler cap is a bitch to fit - is not a perfect fit.

Please don't take this the wrong way bud as you know I love your car but putting those's arches on has spoiled it for me,it was perfect as it was and with them not being body coloured just makes it worse but that's just me.

Fair comment Ryan and thanks for the backhanded complement lol, but on white cars they just look too suttle in white.

Oh and it's finished and running :D

Last question guys,

Approximately how many more millimeters of offset were needed to fill out the new arches?

STi9 type R 15 February 2013 08:57 AM

I'm running 18" 9.75 J ET20 with 255/35/18

To put forward an alternative perspective, I just creamed my jeans at the pic.

Sorry but i think they both look proper Gash, [/PUKE]

Come back ABW all is forgiven, i've seen them on a grey wagon that mattyb posted and they look good on that, you get what you pay for.:thumb:

Well I've had the ABW arches and the eBay ones regarding quality they are both equal and I personally think the eBay ones look far better and there a lot cheaper.

STI9 type r,

I must say im not a fan of the arches on your car. Its probably the best classic on here but the black bits aren't doing it any favours. Colour code them chap and it'll look absolutely stunning again.

Steve Whitehorn 15 February 2013 04:00 PM

A few pictures of my car here. To give people an idea.
These are ABW ones.

https://www.scoobynet.com/members-ga...4309-mine.html

The rear on on the side of the fuel filler cap is a better fit on the 2door cars as opposed to the 4door cars.
It took about three goes to get the front arch liner far enough back in the arch not to rub on the wheels but still in the correct location to stop the water coming into the footwell. Which is a problem Mags had.

Matty fitted these whilst I buggered about and did less complicated things :D

Kwik 15 February 2013 04:10 PM

Oooh Matty can fit mine then too :luxhello:
