Im running 380 bhp with prada spec 2 s so prob not best tyre in wet lol

Bealescooby 09 April 2012 08:24 PM

find mine the same in wet weather
Love 4wd drifting
can quite easily get caught out if your not careful so practice makes perfect

555scooby 09 April 2012 08:24 PM

Ive got a sti type ra and i find the same thing, the back end steps out easy in the wet!

chrispy200+ 09 April 2012 08:26 PM

Had exactly the same in the first week of owning mine, 385lb/ft and not used to it meant sideways in a straight line, now since adjusted driving style

leecalcars 09 April 2012 08:34 PM

Had falken 452 on my type r and use to grip like hell in the wet in my type r (and I use to give it some)

craigo 09 April 2012 08:35 PM

LUCKO 09 April 2012 08:41 PM

type r + sports tyres + wet road =

one of my old type r used to behave like this in the dry when fitted with avon zz3 - avoid these

**jay** 09 April 2012 08:48 PM

wind the dccd a notch or 2 in the wet helps if you want to keep the back end in shape with a bit heavy throttle, i on the other hand coming from driving a lot of rear wheel drive cars prefer to keep the diff in open lol

380 is a big figure in a classic mate.....

craigo 09 April 2012 09:00 PM

umm sonic, how do i get my sti type r logo up like yours there ?

sonic93 09 April 2012 09:05 PM

in your edit options at bottom mate.

yea it is alot of fun to lol apart from in wet.

chrispy200+ 09 April 2012 09:06 PM

It's just in the settings, same place as you got the wrx bit from

99greenwagon 09 April 2012 09:11 PM

i also try to take it easy in the wet,and thats with less bhp than 380 odd, seems pretty damn good in the dry tho.:norty:

been wondering how to sort that for a while :Suspiciou thanks :thumb:

im running toyo proxes, they seem sure footed in the wet. anyone been running these in the past ?

chrispy200+ 09 April 2012 09:35 PM

Had the proxes t1-r on mine with plenty of tread and found they let go fairly easily in the wet but I think with 385 lb/ft of torque it was going to happen no matter what was on it

im surprised it dosent do it in the dry with that power in a type r.:D

Steve777 09 April 2012 09:43 PM

Yep mine does it as well. Toyo's here too. I usually put a couple of clicks forward on the DCCD when its a bit wet which helps a bit. Just have to get used to it and improve your throttle control

does it actually move in the wet?:D

chrispy200+ 09 April 2012 09:55 PM

It did make a difference playing around with the dccd although I did like the tail happy driving, I've since gone 6 speed without dccd and hopefully more than 400 lb/ft

alanbell 09 April 2012 09:58 PM

Ive a hawkeye 6 speed in mine with dccd, Ive never driven a car with dccd , so should be fun to say the least

d87dav 09 April 2012 10:00 PM

the arse end of my type r is always kickin out, thats the joy of having a type r,totally differnt drive to a standard 4 wheel drive subaru,
if it gets scary flick the dccd switch up a couple of notches and that should square her up.practice wont make it perfect but it helps lol

The Pink Ninja 09 April 2012 10:00 PM

Took mine for a blast yesterday after the battery went flat for not driving it for over 2 weeks due to being in the states where i had to endure a 3.0l V6 dodge Auto on the wrong side of the road, lol, I must remember to get it in a straight line before planting my foot to the floor, Its not just Type-R`s you know :D

DannyBoy007 09 April 2012 10:04 PM

So many owners have found out too late that these cars can bite you in both the wet and dry!!!!!

Was after one of those as much prefer the dccd boxes, just a bit too much money at the moment
