type r in wet
I think i just left deposits in my pants lol i never realised how lairy my car was in wet since it been mapped . On a41 today doing about 45 put foot down and backend went big time . Any other type r owners find this in wet?
Im running 380 bhp with prada spec 2 s so prob not best tyre in wet lol |
find mine the same in wet weather
Love 4wd drifting can quite easily get caught out if your not careful so practice makes perfect |
Ive got a sti type ra and i find the same thing, the back end steps out easy in the wet!
|
Had exactly the same in the first week of owning mine, 385lb/ft and not used to it meant sideways in a straight line, now since adjusted driving style
|
Had falken 452 on my type r and use to grip like hell in the wet in my type r (and I use to give it some)
|
:lol1: brilliant, this thread will get some comments :thumb:
ummmm can i ask what tyres and all in good shape? its a must !! me personally, ive driven scoobs for 12 years, last 3 years P1 and couple of type R. ummm... I ve have had to raise my driving ability no question :D prada, i see now...... |

type r + sports tyres + wet road =
one of my old type r used to behave like this in the dry when fitted with avon zz3 - avoid these |
wind the dccd a notch or 2 in the wet helps if you want to keep the back end in shape with a bit heavy throttle, i on the other hand coming from driving a lot of rear wheel drive cars prefer to keep the diff in open lol
Jay |
Would you prefer understeer ? ;)
|
yea wasn t ready for it i never thought at 45 in straight line would kick rear end out . would be fun but scared of bending it lol. pradas aint best in wet lol but in dry very good.scared me more than my skyline in wet lol
|
no i wouldnt lol oversteer more fun spose lol

yea it is alot of fun to lol apart from in wet. |
It's just in the settings, same place as you got the wrx bit from
|
i also try to take it easy in the wet,and thats with less bhp than 380 odd, seems pretty damn good in the dry tho.:norty:

Had the proxes t1-r on mine with plenty of tread and found they let go fairly easily in the wet but I think with 385 lb/ft of torque it was going to happen no matter what was on it

Yep mine does it as well. Toyo's here too. I usually put a couple of clicks forward on the DCCD when its a bit wet which helps a bit. Just have to get used to it and improve your throttle control

How will mine do with over 550 of each :D but it is a stripped out track car :thumb:

It did make a difference playing around with the dccd although I did like the tail happy driving, I've since gone 6 speed without dccd and hopefully more than 400 lb/ft
|
Ive a hawkeye 6 speed in mine with dccd, Ive never driven a car with dccd , so should be fun to say the least
|
the arse end of my type r is always kickin out, thats the joy of having a type r,totally differnt drive to a standard 4 wheel drive subaru,
if it gets scary flick the dccd switch up a couple of notches and that should square her up.practice wont make it perfect but it helps lol |
Took mine for a blast yesterday after the battery went flat for not driving it for over 2 weeks due to being in the states where i had to endure a 3.0l V6 dodge Auto on the wrong side of the road, lol, I must remember to get it in a straight line before planting my foot to the floor, Its not just Type-R`s you know :D
|
So many owners have found out too late that these cars can bite you in both the wet and dry!!!!!
